I said you have to be UK-resident or domicile and carry a UK passport. Ha, I no fit afford accountant grin

If you dont do busines in the UK you probably dont need an accountant. If you are self-employed or you have business in the  UK you need an accountant to do your tax returns for you dey no dey joke with that kind thing over there oas you dont get taxed like those who do 9-5 and for that you  NEED an accountant and i think they charge you about 650-800 annually but if you are not a business person or self-employed then you probably dont need to bother.

But speak to an accountant though i'm sure that mini-consultaion should be FOC cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

bros what r u on about, if ojo stop u an d u produce the receipt, they can always run a check on your incoming funds from the a/c and verify if any is questionable. I do it all the time. In 2006 I gave a friend 10k to take home 4 me, he was stopped at LHR and the guy produced the till receipt, the customs guys just query am small pass am.

Be careful sometimes they ask small qns and let you go and that is the end of it and sometimes there is a tag put on you to monitor you in future. Be careful the bail for money laundering is about 25k

Your humble boy wants to know where he can put his dangote return money for the best and quickest return possible.

Short of ideas for now or should I say I am confused about where to put this money.

Has anyone seen the dividend and the bonus tracking system they have introduced on Nigeriansecurities. They are evidently the site to subscribe to.

Maybe i am just lightheaded as my portfolio on their site shows a green day for me grin

Not only you it is the days of Sugar on NSE. I am going home on a green note.

Question
Why is half of the insurance companies coming to market at a time when people's money are tied between the elephant and the Ocean.

This is for the Large Hearted Gurus here: easimoni; pumping77, windywendy, dollyp1cute, wanaj0, fatherof2, Frankriri

I am new to trading so please can you explain how one can carry out the following trading styles:

RORO - roll on roll off
CICO - cycle in cycle out
GIGO - get in get out

Secondly, is FSDH Securities Limited a reliable broker (do they have a reliable and efficient online based service) ?. If not which ones can I get for about 1m.

Many thanks.

No mind us jo! They all mean the same thing. The premise is you buy a stock when you anticipate news (mostly announcement of results/bonuses/dividends or lifting of technical suspensions) that should drive the share price to a new level. You don't wait to see where the stock goes in the long-term; you simply exit when your target price appreciation (ex-fees) has been met. Fo2 is the pioneer of this strategy and recommends 25% as your target. It should take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months if you time it right.

It is not for the faint of heart or the patient ones. It is for those who enjoy tracking prices daily and turning-over several times a year. Not sure I can offer you a comparison of this method to others (such as Wanaj0's patented "multi-year siddon look if nothing bad dey happenTM" tongue) but it has it's merits.

I hereby pass on your FSDH request to others. I use their spreadsheets (the best!) but have no knowledge of how good the services are.

@RoughCut,
I don't have a business hence my tax affairs are fairly simple (self-assessment).
Sorry to go on about ths CCI thing. But i assume you are a Nigerian and would probably hold a nigerian passport in addition to your EU or American passport. Open an account in nigeria as a nigerian and open your CSCS account with a nigerian address, chikena. As long as you do transactions through your DOM account you are losing out on all grounds except your volumes are really high. Exchange rates not good including swift and all sort of transfer charges. Start enjoying near black market rates through family and friends without HMRC or IRS even been aware you are existing.

Gurus forgive me for all my tori, shocked

The Japaul bonus is actually planned for 2008 FY and not 2007, so what's the market crazy about? Even if they beat the 07 forecast by 100% and the 08 forecast by 100%, it's still sooooo expensive (esp since we don't know how many shares were sold at the PO - u know how that story goes).

If you are looking for 100% appreciation in 8 months - FBN or UBA are not appropriate candidates. I say this because with the infor on ground now, they can't propel to 80 and 100 respectively - I doubt it. maybe 40-50% appreciation if you are lucky.

For 100% in 8 months - take a gamble on small cap, liquid , fundamentally sound stocks with the appropriate entry price.

If I knew any stock that fit that bill - I will be going in with my eyes closed. But since you have 8 months time frame - consider C&I, Ikeja hotel, Ag leventis

I have reservations  about those two sha. But I honestly dont see C&I at 20naira in August,

You can try for Insurance stock if you dont mind T.S. But I honestly think the appreciation now is artificial because they want to come to the market and if their Full year results are not stupendous, they may fall after T.S rather than rise.

@Frankiriri,  My heart goes out to you.  Be strengthened, there is hope for the dead - RESURRECTION.  We are sorry, but please be comforted.

Some said earlier that the forward PE for C & I Leasing is 40.  Please may I know how it was derived?  I seem to have something smaller, and should we expect the price to step down again below N9 ?  I fear if it will.  Wish Roughcut is reading this, this seems to be your baby smiley

He cannot endorse either one because the guy is going to be bridesmaid VP candidiate again. He must play his cards right.

I'm for the Clintons (did I hear you scream "traitor?)  tongue Methinks Obama is a rock-star; too quick a rise and no track record. He was a nobody only 4 years ago and now is the front-runner. He has no negatives because he's done nothing. It's easy for him to say he opposed the war from the beginnning; he wan't yet a senator when it was time to vote. Also seems to fumble a lot when he's debating instead of speaking. But he seems like a good guy and I think he'll win.

Ha!!! I fear you o. No track record for Obama Track record only starts in the US senate? Obama "fumbles" and HRC has a "good" track record Tell me ONE thing that HRC has done. No need to argue this one.

I know guys are going to slaughter me for side tracking ----

Here goes,

Yes TRAITOR - however I hear all your concerns, its between the devil and the deep blue sea and I noticed the fumbling when it comes to debates as opposed to podium speaking.

But I still say no to Clinton - why - this is a game to them, they believe they "own it" thats why Bill has been campainging as if we will be voting for him, whats that -- hello lets the Mrs. fight her battles.

For me Obama is the golden kid that dared to dream -- the kenyan kid sentiments i know. If he wins that proves a point ; Africans we got what it takes grin grin

But the point is that their is a shift in the thinking of americans, especially the young generation; even if he doesnt win he has set the stage for another OBAMA that may come in 8 years time.

As for War - even if na me be US president at 9/11 I will have all my guns out for war. No one in Bush shoes will not have gone to war at least to afghanistan but maybe not to Iraq.

Any president that wouldnt take a tough stand at such a time as 9/11 will be vetoed out if there is anything like that.

My peeps back to NSE grin grin

Hello @pumping ,

When the Clintons were on the political scene he was still in college or in diapers---- the more reason the clintons are angry and embarrased that he dare to contend with their birthright.

Hilary dey ride Bills wing and she no get anything NEW to offer.

But honestly if OBAMA gets in -- I will fear for his safety, hopefully he will not be another JFK.
