What is happening?
A referendum is being held on Thursday, 23 June to decide whether Britain should leave or remain in the European Union. This article is designed to be an easy-to-understand guide - if you have any questions you can send them in using this link. We'll be answering a selection at the bottom of the page.
What is a referendum?
A referendum is basically a vote in which everyone (or nearly everyone) of voting age can take part, normally giving a "Yes" or "No" answer to a question. Whichever side gets more than half of all votes cast is considered to have won.
Why is a referendum being held?
Prime Minister David Cameron promised to hold one if he won the 2015 general election, in response to growing calls from his own Conservative MPs and the UK Independence Party (UKIP), who argued that Britain had not had a say since 1975, when it voted to stay in the EU in a referendum. The EU has changed a lot since then, gaining more control over our daily lives, they argued. Mr Cameron said: "It is time for the British people to have their say. It is time to settle this European question in British politics."

Why are we killing our selves over living together then?
Britain carried out a referendum few years back in Scotland to know if Scotish nationals would remain with Britain or not...it was peaceful and well carried out...now they are at it again..this is what I call mature government..who says whites are not superior? Many African countries have killed their people instead of carrying out a peaceful referendum to decide on major unity issue.
We should never insult whites again...they are far better and they value public opinion...we just love to suck blood. We love to kill our selves...Over here in Nigeria, someone is saying that unity is a must and a do or die decades after we have benefitted nothing from the unity. ...pls...oil should finish make I see if we go get sense small. I'm sure some people will still come here to defend FG over unity stand...na for only Africa I see sey unity na by force...settle this issue via referendum .

Not the entire country...read about how it was done for the Scottish in Britain...that is how it will be done...allow Biafrans decide if they will remain or not...if majority decides to stay wit Nigeria...the dream of Biafra will end maturely but if they choose to leave...systematic steps will be carried out gradually for an independent state...it is simple...this system of Blacks killing them selves no make sense...if u go to white forum and see how they laugh at us on issues such as this...u will be ashamed of ur race..

The only people that will vote are the people that wants to leave. So, yes, the only people that will vote are biafrans and Niger deltans.

We seem to be suffering from referendum addiction. The economy of Britain was so bad that workers were on a three-day week before deciding to join the EU in the 70s. Now that they are doing well, they want to leave the ones that are struggling.

Referendum would not give the Biafrans what they want once Ike Nwachukwu happens to be the president of Nigeria when that referendum is conducted. Just as it wouldn`t have delivered anything, if the Niger Deltans had been given one when Goodluck Jonathan was in power.

People need to learn that societal problems would always exist and referendum can`t solve everything.
