the nfa chairman according to the daily Sun of 27, nov 2006 has call off the search of a foriegn coach for the super eagles his reason been lack of resources.
could it be true that the Giant of africa for real does not have the resources to take care of a foreign coach or could it be that football is not that important to nigerians as to waste much on it?
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by Nobody: 12:42pm On Nov 27, 2006
no, lack of vision, focus and direction from an NFA peopled by inept kleptocrats!
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by exu(m): 1:07pm On Nov 27, 2006
We don't need a foreign coach.
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by amodu(m): 2:01pm On Nov 27, 2006
We need it.

thats laughable. Nigeria is a least 50 times bigger than Jamaica, and Jamaica can afford to employ Bora, and you know that because of Bora's rep he will ask for a bigger salary. and tiny little Jamaica can afford that. and we aint got oil. cheesy cheesy cheesy
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by exu(m): 4:06pm On Nov 27, 2006
Serious question: what would a foreign coach do that a Nigerian coach couldn't do?

Who the heck is Bora? What Pedigree and reputation does he have.Ooops, so you think Bora is the best thing that has happened to your football?. Bora, that African reject.lol cheesy cheesy. You are wallowing in mediocrity.dont you know Bora's stint in Africa ended with a colossal failure. No wonder, he went to the jamaican team where football is in the doldrums and where he is gonna be celebrated simply because he is a "white". undecided

we dont extol people cos of their color. Nigeria used him, and since he has left, your program has been going nowhere. cant even win the African cup.

Begging to disagree here! Our soccer program is indeed going no where NOT because Bora left (infact any achievement we've had is down to Clemens "the magicman Westerhoff) but because we have been unfortunate to be saddled with inept kleptocrats as NFA chairmen, inept "stakeholders" masquerading as being in love with football.
People like Sani Lulu and ibrahim Galadima! Men with no pedigree but who magically keep winning kangaroo NFA elections!

We need a foreign coach.
No Nigerian manager is good enough in man management.

No foreign coach, no sucess
Thats about it.

Pride they say goes before a fall. we are always ready to say we can do it on our own but where have we reached with this pride.
if we talk about individual coaches should consider their standards. who is Eguavon to coach the eagles? if anyone of us takes his time to watch Chelsea, you dare not score an early goal against them. the coach will be ready to withdraw all his defenders and introduce all his attackers so that if they are loosing they will loose but the preasure will now be on the other side.
studying a match and knowning when to make changes and where the changes should be made not minding which player is playing there.
a look at the super eagle's previous games will show that no matter the winning, the super eagles that are known will classical and team work have lost all only displaying individual abilities.
our last match against losetho was not expected by any nigerian to end in 1-0 neither did we expect super eagles to win niger 2-0 strugling to win football minors so what will be the faith of the team when they meet the big sides.
foriegn coaches or white coaches have their ways of influencing football. take for instance, Domenech of france invited makalele but Mourinho refused, because he is a big coach, he was able to remind makalele and chelsea the rules and regulations guiding his failure to show up for international matches.
makalele was to miss two club matches for any invitation he fails to honour.
but what do we have back in nigeria, eguaavon on the pages of the dailies arguing with players.
the truth is what we have failed to accept. we are incapacitated and there nothing we can do about it at the moment. we need the coaches to take us to the promise land.
it is always difficult for eguavon to give orders to the players who are well convienced that they have achieved more than he did in football and maybe claiming to know more than the coach.
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by LoverBwoy(m): 2:50pm On Nov 28, 2006
how many games have Eguavon* lost since he took over as they coach?

the coach is not the problem NFA is the real problem!
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by amodu(m): 5:08pm On Nov 28, 2006
Leave the NFA issue, we need a foeign coach.

Our local coach cannot handle the national team, the players are feeling too big to be control by those coaches except for Adegboye Onigbinde.

how many games have we lost playing under eguavon* ?
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by chidichris(m): 10:08am On Nov 29, 2006
eguavon is not the problem, but local coaches. since we started using local coaches what have we archieved. look at it this way,u won a match but the juice of supper eagles is no longer there. nigeria has talents in football yet we could not go to world cup.
trace our winnings and look at them very well how many good teams have we meet. cote d'ivoire was a problem at nation's cup. niger that cannot stand the troubles eyimba gave us a war right there in abuja, lesotho that cannot stand street players in lagos was a difficult nut to crack. are we surposed to justify a 90 minutes encounter with a lone goal.
please seat back and watch super eagles of nowadays, u can only see individual football no team work. we need to show superiorities in the african football and we have the players who can do that at all levels but we lack technicalities.
even when our players win they know is not worth celebrating.
the introduction of politics into our football is taking us back despite the fifa ranking.

No

How do you expect us to lose playing Algeria, Niger, Lesotho etc.

Let him play some European countries or top country form Asia or from South America then you can say he is better, as for me he as not achieve anything, therefore we need a foreign coach
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by exu(m): 3:18pm On Nov 29, 2006
Some of you guys have a ridiculous notion of what it takes to win.

A foreign coach will not guarantee good results or even good man management- did you not see what happened in 1998?

The NFA is very much the root of any problems the national team is facing currently, too many people are in it for the money as opposed to the greater good of the game.

p.s.
Without meaning to sound confrontational what exactly did Onigbinde that has left such a great impression on you amodu?
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by Grizzly(m): 2:01pm On Nov 30, 2006
Lulu has "looted" his way in and out,
No money to play friendlies, no money to hire a foreign coach,
hmmmm.

It is not upto him to organise who we play he can suggest what team we play but if the NFA says look we have not paid you for the past 9months so ba kudi-no money, how do you expect us to invite some top teams you think the other team foot the bill for their invitations?

you think foriegn coach will be cutting the grass, applying for players visa, paying for hotels?
they'll probably leave the team and go back to their country, i dont really know anyone that can tolerate how the nfa people behave
Re: No More Foregn Coach: Lulu by chidichris(m): 6:32am On Dec 01, 2006
Eguavon is the only coac that can manage a team that does not play any friendly from january to december. he is the only coach that can work for nine (9) months without salary. he is the only coach that will not care if any invited player honour the call or not. he is the only coach that will accept conditions from players. WHY? he sees the super eagles job as the only way out. for sure, no coach will work under this condition but what next for him if he quits.
he is the rubber stamp. he has been placed there to be used by the fat idiots in the nfa to achieve their aims since no foriegn coach will work under their conditions but he should be mearnt to understand that history will remember his carrear as a player during the us 94 and a coach under the present dispensensation as it relates to the downfall of nigeria football.
he shld be mearnt to understand that the coach bears the responsibilities when there is a failure as no one will remember the nfa and that is why the foriegn coaches will always resign whenever they sense foul play.
