A 28-year-old Pastor, Akintunde Olatunde, has been sentenced to 36 years imprisonment for stealing tomatoes, pepper, indomie and some valuable items.

The convict was said to have committed the offense in Osogbo, Osun state capital. Police Prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the convict conspired with others now at large to commit the offense.

He said Olatunde on or before June 10, 2016, broke and enter into the shops and houses of Afolabi Temitayo, Dunmoye Abideen, Gabriel Oke, Oyewumi Cecilia, Olakunbi Ajeigbe, Ganiyu Kikelomo and Ganiyu Akerele.

While giving the fact of the matter, Abiodun said the convict stole: GoTV antenna, TV, glass centre table, two mattress, two fan, beans, gas cylinder, half a bag of rice, one roll and three packet of Cypri gold tablet, cold liver oil, funbact A cream, four bottles of Monomin Plus, two 10kg of Semovita, two packet of Indomie, bedroom refrigerator, among others.

He said the convict was caught with a torch, Scissors which he used to cut the window net and three chisels.

However, Olatunde admitted guilty of all the twelve count charge of house breaking and stealing preferred against him. Items stolen by the convict was admitted and marked Exhibit A to V, while his confessional statement was marked Exhibit W.

In his confessional statement, the convict confessed that he went into stealing because the church, New Anointed Prayer Ministry, Dele Yes Sir, Osogbo, where he was learning Pastoral work was not giving him money.”

“I started stealing about three month ago. I got some items I used to break into houses from the church.

“It is true that I am an ex-convict. I was bailed by my General Overseer in Agodi Ibadan prison and brought to Osogbo.

Magistrate Olusola Aluko subsequently sentenced Olatunde to three years in each of the twelve charges.
