However, if you don't have access to the phone - only the sealed box, then the best way is to check the IMEI info. This doesn't absolutely guarantee you sha. IMEI can be faked. One can get a phone and make it display the IMEI of a Galaxy S7. So, don't put all your hopes on IMEI.

If I have an S7 clone, and I want to make you believe it's original, all I have to do is get the IMEI of an original S7 and make it the IMEI of the clone. All they gats to do is change the imei to that of an original phone.
Even they recognize the original ones... So all they do is collect that and tweak other devices with same imei.

What can I say? A little learning is a dangerous thing. E better for person not to know of IMEI at all, than for person to believe say IMEI go totally prove genuineness. At least person wey no sabi at all go dey more cautious than person wey put all im hope for IMEI.

Don't mind the guy. He bough a low end Hauwei y3. A Chinese entry level phone, of course u don't expect it to be of high quality. Slot do not sell FAKE Samsung phones because it is Samsung that supply them, so how can Samsung supply fake phones?

The only way i know of now is booting the phone to odin mode. that is (vol down + home key + power button). i think that original odin mode has not been clone yet. the fake samsung display different odin mode from the original.

The only method I check the genuineness of a Samsung phone is to connect the phone to Samsung Kies in a laptop. Samsung Kies only detects original Samsung phone.
