A Lagos lawmaker says the state government may establish a teaching hospital for traditional medicine if the practitioners improve on their practices.

Samuel Adejare, the chairperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health, said this on Tuesday in Lagos while speaking at a programme to commemorate the African Traditional Medicine Day, organised by the state traditional medicine board.

Mr. Adejare said that for government to establish the traditional teaching hospital as provided in the 2004 state health reform law, all traditional practitioners should improve on their activities.

``The vision we have for traditional medicine in Lagos State is second to none.

"There is a law for it and it is not going to be illegal when they start and it depends on how the traditional medicine practitioners develop themselves," he said.
