It all started this year April like heat rash on my hands, on its second week it has gotten to my back, third week, it was looking like Chicken pox so I visited the hospital and the doctored said it was chicken pox and I told him I had suffered from chicken pox back in 2007.

I was administered some drugs but i noticed it kept spreading, the doctor had to refer me to a skin specialist, who taught it was chicken pox too but on my second visit, he consulted his Books on skin disease and alas, I've got Mucha Habermann disease also known as pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta or PLEVA.

Please doctors, I have used several oral ointment nd some drugs yet I ve not found relief..

It's said to be a rare Immune disease but I don't want to believe it has no cure.

Kindly assist me because I can't cope having these all over my body.

I agree. Go to another hospital. Preferably a Federal Teaching hospital that is well grounded. Meet with their consultant dermatologist for another opinion on the diagnosis.
This doctor that had to consult a book to tell u ur ailment is not an expert at all. The worst person for u to deal with.

If all fails, just go herbal, but be very careful.
My sister had something that (looked) similar to yours while we were in university. My mum got a herbal treatment for her (drinks and some rubbing liquid) from somewhere I cant remember now. The thing disappeared in weeks.
The advise to go herbal even came from the dermatologist.

There is no doctor that doesn't consult books but some might not have d courage to do so in d presence of d patient.
This is even more important since d disease in question is a rare disease.
Between a doctor that consults his book and makes d right diagnosis and d one that doesn't consult with d attendant chance of missing d diagnosis,wc would U prefer?

repent in any way u av sinned and ask God to forgive you.learn to sing praises to God because when prayer fails praise will work.then keep praying this prayer points "the disease of the egyptians is not my portion" x7.i cover my legs with blood of Jesus and i command this disease to passover me in Jesus name.no matter ur faith,you av to do this and within 7days it will go.keep trying till u are healed.

i have met one.
He talked about using UV Light to correct it but was not so sure since its a very rare disease and i am the first of his patient with such.
Secondly, i would not be able to afford the fee of 120k a month( 2 sections a week) for some months.



Please doctors/Pharmacist in the house, i know this disease might not be familiar but kindly read it up and see if u can recommend treatment\drug.

I am not saying that the doctor is wrong nor am I saying he is fake. But The fact that he consults the book to make his diagnosis means he has not seen that disease before and so is not in the best position to treat it.

The disease might be rare. But it exists, hence it is in the book. The OP should look for someone who has seen the disease before and treated it. He should visit a consultant dermatologist in a federal teaching hospital. The vast experience they have with different types of cases is enough to give him confidence.

In medical practice,if U have made d CORRECT diagnosis,70% of d problems is already solved.
The field of medicine is so wide that d so called experienced consultant might have maybe come across d disease once in his books but might never have seen it in a patient.

try funbact A and anti biotics or herbal medicines (yoruba agbo)
they use it to clear measles ..so it can also help in this situation

Go and find original dermatol and a strong antibiotic drug(can't remember the name of this particular one but it's expensive sha)...if the thing no clear in one week come back here and call me names.


Anybody can be a doctor in Nigeria, all you have to do is read some books and watch some YouTube videos

Oral antibiotics can help to clear lesions in about 50% of affected individuals, particularly erythromycin in children and a tetracycline derivative in adults. Exposure to ultraviolet light is the most effective therapy, particularly if the pityriasis lichenoides is persistent. While individuals can show considerable improvement from summer sunlight, phototherapy (light treatments) with narrow band ultraviolet light is an alternative for more controlled light delivery and during months that are not sunny. PUVA (psoralens and ultraviolet A light) is less commonly used, given its greater associated risk of the development of skin cancer and accelerated skin aging. Topical corticosteroids and systemic antihistamines have been used to ease pruritus, but do not clear the eruption. Methotrexate or dapsone may be necessary in severe cases.
