In Nigeria , thousands of women die daily from various medical conditions that can actually be prevented and treated.

MALARIA DURING PREGNANCY

In Nigeria , Malaria is a very popular disease in the country and tropics. It is caused by the plasmodium spp in which the anopheles mosquitoes its vector.


In pregnancy , the incidence and severity is higher as it is responsible for about 11% of all maternal deaths and 70.5% of morbidity in pregnant women.

The diseases has continued to spread its tentacles and become a major cause fro 63% of all clinic attendance.

Pregnant women are advised to protect themselves by sleeping under insecticide treated mosquito net, keeping the environment clean and free from stagnant water.

They should also present themselves for adequate and prompt treatment by a trained health personnel.
