Position Summary
This structured, two-year graduate development programme is designed to build on the knowledge you’ve gained at university, enhance your technical and practical skills and give you the best possible start to your career as a Business Analyst.

Key Accountabilities
With the BG Group investing significant amounts each year in the business, you’ll understand why expert business analysis has such an important role to play. Join us as a graduate in this area and you can expect to impact on the commercial decisions we make and, ultimately, on the long-term success of the business. During the course of our two-year programme, you’ll rotate through three or four assignments. On each of these, you’ll work closely with an integrated team of technical, commercial and operational experts, carry out analyses of real commercial opportunities and assist the team in the project’s delivery.

Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all time. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all employees are accountable for ensuring that they take care of themselves and adopt exemplary safe behaviours.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Our graduate assessment centre will help us determine whether or not you’re right for BG Group. There are, however, some pre-requisites. In terms of your academic achievements, we’ll expect a good degree (or equivalent) in a business, management, finance, science or engineering discipline. Beyond that, you’re likely to have practical work experience in a role with a certain amount of responsibility. From a practical standpoint, fluency in English is a must. And given the fact that at least one of your six-month placements will be based overseas, you must also be prepared to live and work way from home for extended periods.

Key Accountabilities
BG Commercial sits at the heart of BG Group’s international investment and business development activities. Our projects, some of which entail multi-billion dollar expenditures, span the entire energy value chain and offer learning opportunities on a scale that few organisations can match.
Join us as a graduate on this two-year programme and you’ll complete three or four assignments that will launch you on a career that will involve anything from negotiating with host governments for the rights to explore and develop new oil and gas reserves to crafting agreements for the transportation of hydrocarbons.

Whether you’re interested in strategy formulation, capital investment evaluations, business development, project structuring or commercial negotiations, this real world exposure will prove invaluable. You’ll quickly grow to understand the business divers within each sector and how our important commercial decisions are made.

As well as gaining a wealth of practical experience, you’ll benefit from a wide range of technical training. An intensive ‘learning week’ focused on global markets, petroleum economics and legal principles will be supplemented by web-based training tailored to your individual needs.

Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all employees are accountable for ensuring that they take care of themselves and adopt exemplary safe behaviours.

Engineers can be found in every area of BG Group, from the Chief Executive himself to discipline engineering experts and commercial managers, and from project directors to plant operation specialists and technology champions. As a graduate, you’ll therefore have a bright future ahead of you, and a big part to play in the Group’s success. Three or four assignments over the course of two years on this programme will give you the chance to work on real, live projects and assume real responsibility from the start.
