Avoid these medicines;

Allergies can be to foods, pollen, and a host of many other things. The causative agents cause inflammation so it's easy to reach out for anti inflammation medicine, many of which are worse allergens in themselves. The most notorious, that causes being indomethacine.

1. Indomethacin

Indometacin or indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug commonly used as a prescription medication to reduce fever, pain, stiffness, and swelling from inflammation

Severe allergic reactions to this drug causes among others, symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing (prophylaxis).

The troubled breathing can be life threatening as lungs can get completely shut down.

When suffering from prophylaxis, avoid indomethacine and other non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They will worsen it.

2. Anesthesia

Important notice for people who develop anaphylaxis as allergy reaction to other agents (wheat, indomethacine, etc). Inform the doctor of your condition before administration.

"... Anaphylaxis reaction to anesthetic agents is fortunately rare, ranging from 1 in 5,000 to 25,000 cases. Yet it remains a serious problem, especially as it may be difficult for your doctor to observe the warning signs of usual allergic reactions, such as light-headedness and shortness of breath under anesthesia. In addition, during a surgical procedure, you are likely to be receiving a wide array of medications.

Besides anesthetic drugs, antibiotics, blood thinners and blood products are often given. Latex allergy is an increasingly common allergy to rubber, which is usually not serious. If you think you have it, you should tell your surgeon and your anesthesiologist, so they can avoid using latex products. Hence, you should advise your doctor of any known or possible allergic reaction you may have had in the past, including antibiotics, over the counter medications, material and food allergies..." http://www.cas.ca/English/Allergic-reactions

Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 8:12pm On Jul 07, 2016
3. Penicillin

This is especially important because severe allergic reactions can be mistaken for infections. You could be having a fever, shortness of breath, running nose as an allergic reaction to a food, just to rush to your nearby dispensary and get injected with a more severe allergen - penicillin.

"...Penicillin is prescribed for treating various bacterial infections.

Common signs and symptoms of penicillin allergy include hives, rash and itching. Severe reactions include anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition that affects multiple body systems.

Other antibiotics, particularly those with chemical properties similar to penicillin, can also result in allergic reactions..."

#Edit
Lately, I've had to take various anti bacterial drugs (including penicillin) - many for allergic reactions (would you believe it?) But they are combined with a set of two types of antihistamines in my observation. I recently forgot to tell a doctor that I am likely to develope reactions and my self medication with cetrizin seems to have worked, until I started sneezing heavily together with other symptoms that were obvious of allergic reactions. I suspect the change of weather(start of rainy and Windy season) has made the situation worse.

Life Saving Wristbands

To avoid medical accidents, some patients have resorted to wearing bands labelled "hypoallergenic" in case of emergency situations that may lead administration of anesthesia or penicillin or other allergens unknowingly.

Other Notorious Allergens

Ticks

From tick bites and..

Adult ticks attach to the tips of grass blades and vegetation, and from there transfer themselves to passing animals or humans. The tick usually crawls up inside clothing and attaches strongly to their host by biting through the skin, generally lodging in the skin of the head or neck or scalp of their host. The most common reaction is local irritation and swelling.

From meat of animals bitten by ticks.

Tick bytes are now commonly being associated with meat allergies. Meat from Animals bitten by ticks is as allergenic as the tick bite

Sometimes large local swelling and inflammation can arise at the site of a tick bite and last several days. Such reactions are usually due to mild allergy to the tick.
Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) have also been described to the Australian paralysis tick, Ixodes holocyclus.

Bed bugs

Bed bug bites trigger hives which enlarge with time while continuing to affect the health of the person long after the insect is gone. The hives can enlarge substantively.

Like other hives, they are a warning to keep off other allergens as they may trigger prophylaxis combined.

Allergies from tick bites can be healed by use of Piriton tablets in combination with mediven applied on the hive. This will take a few days to heal. Intamine, also a steroid based antihistamine works faster, applied likewise.

Other insects ,

Insect Sting Allergy. Stings from five insects - honeybees, hornets, wasps, yellow jackets and fire ants - are known to cause allergic reactions to the venom injected into the skin. While most people are not allergic to insect venom, the pain from a sting may cause them to mistake a normal reaction for an allergic one.

Dangerous food allergies

Victims can develop rashes, hives, diarrhea, nausea, other digestive issues, or even anaphylaxis, which is a life-threatening allergic reaction. Some people even have allergies that are exercise induced, meaning that certain foods trigger an immune response once a person begins to exercise.

1. PEANUTS AND TREE NUTS
2. MILK
3. SOY
4. SHELLFISH - Foods like shrimp, lobster, and crab all fall under this category.

5. FIN FISH
Fish with fins—including salmon, tuna and cod

6. EGGS
7. WHEAT

AIRBORNE ALLERGENS

1. Dust Mites/Dust:
Dust mites are readily found in normal house dust and are the most common cause of chronic sneezing and wheezing. Many people can alleviate these symptoms with the use of products including air purifiers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and allergy bedding. They feed on dead skin and hair.

Dust mites are not parasites; they don't bite, sting or burrow into our bodies. The harmful allergen they create comes from their fecal pellets and body fragments

Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 5:21am On Jul 09, 2016
2. Pollen:

In Africa, there are multiple owe ring seasons when trees and weeds are pollinating. The outside air is heavily saturated with these tiny airborne particles that can sneak into the houses with the wind.

Symptoms include: runny nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, nose and throat. Many people can alleviate these symptoms with the use of products including air purifiers and vacuums.

Note:
This allergy is responsible for allergic reactions to edible flowers (eg Cauliflower ) and Honey
Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 5:27am On Jul 09, 2016
3. Pets/Dander:

Cats are the most common pet to trigger allergies, although rodents can also cause reactions

Air inside homes with these animals contains both dander from their fur and also saliva and mucus floating around. Allergies can take up to two years to develop and symptoms can linger for months after the pet has gone. These symptoms include: runny nose, sneezing, hoarseness, wheezing.
Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 5:30am On Jul 09, 2016
4. Mold:

Mold can be found in any moist, dark place. While it may appear that the mold or mildew found in the shower and on the shower curtain is sitting securely in place, in fact, mold loves to travel. It floats easily in the air and can cause chronic problems among allergy sufferers. High concentrations of mold can cause severe reactions. Symptoms include: runny nose, coughing, wheezing, sneezing. Many people can alleviate these symptoms with the use of products including dehumidifiers to eliminate the moisture that mold needs to grow.

5. Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC):

Formaldehyde is widely used in many building products and household products including: adhesives, air fresheners, drapes, floor polishes, glue, carpet backing, dyes, liquid cleaners, markers, paint and toilet cleaners. While very high levels of exposure to formaldehyde cause physical reactions in everyone, some people have allergic reactions to even small exposures. Symptoms include: burning of the eyes and throat, rashes on skin, tightness of chest, fatigue, headaches. Most people can alleviate these symptoms with the use of a variety of products including specialty odor and chemical air purifiers
Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 5:35am On Jul 09, 2016
6. Smoke:

Like formaldehyde, smoke exposure in high levels is physically irritating to almost everyone (not to mention dangerous to your health). Among allergy sufferers, it can be irritating even with very small exposure. Symptoms include: coughing, burning and watery eyes, nasal congestion, hoarseness and shortness of breath. Most people can alleviate these symptoms with the use of a variety of products including specialty smoke air purifiers.

7. FRAGRANCE ALLERGIES

These fall, in my opinion under air borne allergies as they are micro particles ingested from the air.

"...University of Washington recently analyzed 25 of the most popular fragranced products, including air fresheners, fabric softeners, soaps, lotions, shampoo. She found that they emitted 133 different Volatile Organic Compounds. VOCs are gases that can affect both the environment and health.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, VOCs are ten times more concentrated indoors than outdoors. In addition to personal care and cleaning products, they are released from paint, lacquers and glue. Steinemann found that one fourth of them were considered toxic or hazardous by federal law..." 8. Allergic to Food Odors and Smells

These types of reactions only occur in the most sensitive of food-allergic people. The can be severe or cause nausea. They are most common in cooking foods that are allergens by nature. Like white meat ( including lamb and pork), flower based vegetables, etc

Cooking Pumpkin is one of the food aromas that can trigger prophylaxis.

HUMAN CONTACT AND BODY SECRETION ALLERGIES

At times, people have allergic reactions to parts of their bodies like their hair or other people's hair (human hair weaves), or to hormonal secretions within their own bodies.

1. Seminal Plasma Protein Allergy

Women with seminal plasma protein allergy (SPPA) have an immunologic response to human semen. Symptoms vary from local inflammation and pruritus to systemic anaphylaxis after exposure.

Patients with SPPA often have recurrent vaginitis associated with intercourse and are unresponsive to traditional therapies.

Treatments include cromolyn vaginal cream for local reactions and immunotherapy with human seminal plasma. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10438079
Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 6:52am On Jul 09, 2016
2. Hormone Imbalance or hormone allergies

Hormone imbalance is a type of allergic reaction experienced by women from before puberty to old age. It is a heightened reaction to the normal function of hormones. It occurs in almost all women during the premenstrual part of their cycle. In some women it gets so pronounced that there is an actual hormone allergy to their own hormones which heightens their reactions.
The most common disorders associated with ordinary hormone imbalance reactions are:

PMS
Weight Problems
Loss of Short Term Memory
Fatigue
Skin Problems
Mood Swings
Diminished Sex Drive

If the reactions become more severe then we run into actual hormone allergy where we find a group of more serious disorders:

Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Premenstrual Asthma
Menstrual Migraine
Fibromyalgia
Interstitial Cystitis
Arthritis
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

3. Sweat allergy.

Cholinergic urticaria is a disease of the immune system that causes immediate hypersensitivity reaction to emotional stress, heat or exercise. Some may complain that the resulting allergy is due to heat, but the precipitating factor is the sweat.

Symptoms are triggered by the decrease or increase of weighted average body temperature.

Due to change in body temperature, hot showers and anxiety may trigger the symptoms to appear.

It causes skin rashes. Severe forms of cholinergic urticaria may result in angioedema, asthma and hepatocellular injury.

NATURAL MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL

1. Many deadly symptoms will be a combination of one or more causes which have the effect of worsening the symptoms.

So when experiencing an allergic reaction, avoid other allergens. Google foods that provoke allergies and avoid them all at least while the reaction lasts.

2. Use green leafy vegetables. Some green vegetables are allergens though. So the best vegetables are:

- vegetables that are not slimy when cooked. Spinach and amaranth fall in this category.(there are two kinds of spinach in the market, dark green (which is more slimy) and not so dark green ( which works for me when mixed with kales).
- vegetables that are not spices(e.g parsley, onions, thyme)
- Avoid flowers ( cauliflower flowers, other vegetables that include the ovary of the plant as the edible part.)
- Avoid cabbage
- Bitter traditional vegetable ( that exclude the above qualities) and other modern ones like kales can work wonders.

Grains

Sorghum, is very helpful in controlling allergies. Different African communities have different ways of preparing it. Most sorghum in the market comes mixed with millet and maize which is still ok. So long as it is NOT mixed with Amaranth seeds which trigger allergies.

Re: Allergy Information: by Nobody: 9:40am On Jul 10, 2016
For foods, I am not in agreement with most "expert" articles on the same due to the fact that many proposed alternatives that are allergens by themselves, like amaranth floor severally suggested to replace gluten . Most experts also have blacklisted all legumes and lentils. But from experience, green grams can elevate an allergic reaction. I have also used white eyed black beans - Lalblab beans (Lablab purpureus is a species of bean in the family Fabaceae. It is native to Africa and it is cultivated throughout the tropics for food.[2] English language common names include hyacinthbean,[3] lablab-bean[4] bonavist bean/pea, dolichos bean, seim bean, lablab bean, Egyptian kidney bean, Indian bean, bataw and Australian pea.[5] It is the only species in the monotypic genus Lablab - wiki.) and Pigeon peas (greengrams, pigeon and black grams are more commonly grown in semi - arid areas.) I consider the following article based on the writer's experience as more reliable:

1) The type of pulse that is most likely to be highly allergenic is ‘Chick Peas’ (also widely known as Bengal gram or Garbanzo beans)

2) Mung Bean (green gram), Matpe Bean (black gram) and Pigeon Pea ( red gram) are also rich in proteins, vitamins (especially vitamin B), minerals and fiber but the incidence of allergies to these pulses is negligible.

3) He suggested trying lentils only after my son had had successfully tried mung beans, Matpe Beans and Pigeon Pea successfully...

I will briefly introduce you to the 3 types of pulses which are likely to be not allergenic.

1) Mung Beans – This is known by various other names like green gram, green soy and moong. It is extensively used in South Asia. The skin is commonly green in color (there are other varieties too) and the inside is light yellow.

They can be used in some of the following forms:

Whole
Dehusked (split or whole),
Sprouts
Flour
Paste
Starch from mung beans is used to make jelly and cellophane noodles

2) Matpe Beans – Also known by other names like Black gram, Urad and white lentil and extensively used in Southern Asia. The skin is black in color and is white on the inside. It is most commonly used in the following forms:

Whole
Dehusked (whole or split)
Flour
Paste

3) Pigeon Peas – My personal favorite is also known by other names like red gram, toor and no eye peas. Widely used in the Indian subcontinent, Eastern Africa and Central America in the following forms:

Whole
Dehusked and split
Fresh or Green Pigeon peas

CORELATION BETWEEN ALLERGIES AND BLOOD GROUP?

Experts have suggested that different blood groups have different reactions to allergens. They can be treated with blood group diets apparently...
http://www.med-etc.com/med/heilung-o-medi/DrDAdamo/ENGL/allergies-according-to-blood-groups.html

Allergies with blood group 0

Humans of blood group 0 have the big part of all allergies, for example asthma, hey fever etc. (4 Strategien, p.284), and this is because blood group 0 has got no antigens. Therefore the organism of blood group 0 has the lowest force to defend attacks from the outside (4 Strategien, p.285).

Healing of asthma and hey fever can be performed

-- when blood group nutrition is strictly followed
-- and then sneezing and respiration problems etc. will go away (4 Strategien, p.284)

-- also snoring is eliminated
-- and persistent digestion problems also will be eliminated (4 Strategien, p.285).

Allergies with blood group A

Asthma and hey fever with blood group A

Blood group A develops a "stress asthma" because of it's "stress profile". Healing also comes with blood group A by a strict following of blood group diet. And then the excessive mucus production is reduced which is always a problem with blood group A (4 Strategien, p.285).

Healing of asthma and hey fever with blood group A is performed

-- by an elimination of food which is supporting mucus production, and these are all damaging milk products
-- by a constructive managing of stress in life
-- by fulfilling a strict blood group diet (4 Strategien, p.285).

Eventually asthma can really be eliminated completely with this program (4 Strategien, p.285).

Allergies with blood group B

When humans of blood group B have a good nutrition so these humans are only hardly vulnerable for allergies. But the damaging lectins of chicken and corn can provoke allergies with persons of blood group B (4 Strategien, p.285).

Allergies with blood group AB

Humans of blood group AB have the lowest rate of allergies of all blood groups because they have the double quantity of antigens (4 strategies, p.285).

(I'll be going for another blood group test)

Simple Remedies,

1. Piriton tablets

Always have Piriton on hand.

Piriton is the most common anti histamine. For non complicated reactions like sneezing. It is nonsteroidal and not suitable for serious conditions like anaphylaxis for which experts recommend steroid based anti histamines.

2. Insect bite steroid based creame

In case of insect bite. Include mediven, etc applied on affected area only. Works best in combination with taking Piriton.

3. Pineapple

This fruit is classified as an allergen. But if you are one of those who get motion sickness when travelling, take a slice before embarking on your journey to avoid nausea.

4. Green leafy vegetables

This cannot be overemphasised.

5. Avocado

Works well in allergic reactions that cause tiredness, fever. Note Avocado is classified as allergen. But at times it depends on the cause because some allergens have the hormones needed to quell others.

6. Avoid allergens

On most days, many foods, medicines and conditions that trigger allergies are harmless. Especially the less violent allergens. They however become reactive and worsen the symptoms when a person is suffering from other reactions like hives, flu like symptoms, reaction to hormonal changes etc
