Looks like a lot people trooped out to Shoprite stores for the holidays.


According to a reader who witnessed the fight this afternoon, it started out when the security prevented someone from picking a shopping trolley at the Shoprite store in Adeniran Ogunsanya. Apparently due to the crowd at the store, the security had no choice but to try to limit the amount of people gaining entry inside to buy things.A staff who spoke anonymously, said this was also to prevent a recurrence of the serious theft that went down in the store when the crowd became uncontrollable yesterday. Tear gas was however sprayed at a certain point to control and chase people out.

same is just a departmental store like every other store (owned both by foreign or local owners).
