Anybody who knows physics will understand very well what I mean when I said that Nigeria is a scalar quantity. Nigeria only has magnitude (size) without direction in everything. We have been complaining how Nigeria is for the past one year but some people seem not to understand it especially the students. Now I think the students are feeling the breeze of change of the new government. It started with economy, it has entered into education (university), soon the secondary school, primary school and nursery pupils will understand it too.
Ohh..I pity my beloved university aspirants who government has been playing with their emotions and blood pressure level everyday with different news and systems. Even if they are asked to write any exam now, believe me; they may not perform very well as they would have performed because the electric spark they always receive in their minds for every different news must have wiped off everything they know. Today they will be told there won't be putme, tomorrow they will be told there will be putme, next tomorrow they will be told there may be putme.
As it stands now, they don't even know if to read against screening or not, they are just looking and so confused. Government will say their own, Jamb will say their own, university board will say their own, NANS will say their own. They are using Nigerian university aspirants to be playing volleyball and basket ball.
Even people like us that they believe and trust to give them authentic answers now look like liars and people that don't know what they are saying. I have given 3 different answers to one question in the past one month because our government is a scalar quantity.
1. Please Parky will there be putme this year? - YES
2. After a week, please Parky will there be putme this year? - NO
3. After some weeks, please Parky will there still be putme this year? - Ehhmm...I think so, there may, ehhmmm just wait.
Sometimes, people think I snub them or ignore their questions. Please I don't, sometimes I try to get the real info from a good source before I give you to avoid sounding like a liar or someone who doesn't know what he says.
Imagine I spoke with a very high personnel in UNN yesterday concerning putme and how it will be so that I can inform my beloved aspirants for them to be prepared and ready.
Me: Please Prof, how will this year's putme be since you are among the committee? Please tell me because people are really disturbing me.
Prof: Patrick, to be sincere with you, I don't know.
As it stands now, UNN will soon receive names of qualified aspirants from Jamb for admission consideration by UNN. Like I said in one of my posts, universities still have the final say for your admission. That Jamb sent your name to UNN doesn't mean you have been admitted. UNN will remove those that fail her screening and also still add those they will add through many means.
Jamb has always been sending names to universities before now to universities for universities to now decide the admission via screening. You will soon know the procedure for this year's system of screening when the time comes.
My only advice to those who their names will be sent to UNN or other universities is to gather all their documents very well so that there wont be any excuse for UNN to deny you the admission. The documents include:
- Your o'level certificate.
- Utme result print out.
- Evidence of screening fee (if there will be).
- Evidence of your state of origin.
- Birth certificate.
I can only be giving you info as they come and the ones I know.
