My dear Muslim brothers & sisters in Islam,I need your help, advice & assistance.It's over three months now that a bird has been disturbing us in our house(the bird is "lekeleke" this white bird at abattoir " it will come and cry at night,for some hours which will wake us up,my co-tenant too are worried,we have prayed over it, but it will only go and come back again,we are all suspecting that maybe the bird is seeing something strange in that house 'cos we all have seen strange thing in that house b4,we all don't know what our Landlord use as foundation for that house.Please what kind of prayer can we pray to overcome this nightmare.two of my neighbour had miscarriage twice like wise my wife too; PLEASE HELP so that the prayer can be done especially this month of Ramadan.May Allah accept our prayer as an act of Ibadah. Make Nafl prayers always in the house and let Quran tapes play, always.

When you walk-in into a new house, normally make ahdhan in the four corners of every room, except the bathroom. Do this often for 7 days, and again let Quran be recited in it, so play the Quran tapes, CD, etc, and listen to recitation. End it everyday or as often the advises of the others above.

May Allah protects all of you from the evils, known and unknown. Amin.

First, it should be gotten right that the sighting of a bird, cat or any other animal in a house does not automatically mean it is Jinn at work or evil, some animals may just stray into the house innocently. So we should be careful not to read meaningless interpretations to some things. I remember when we were young, anytime we saw a cat in the vicinity, we automatically concluded they were evil.

However, as I have discussed in a number of threads on NL here before, Jinns, either acting as agent for a evil human being or acting on its own, can take the form of birds, cats, dogs, snake or any other animal or inanimate objects like statue, tree, stone etc.

From your narration, I tend to believe there is some evil at work. Allah knows best.
I believe for two reasons. One, in one book on Jinns I read titled THE EVIL EYE, the author,Abu Mazeedatil, a scholar on Jinn issues who had treated Jinn cases in the past, mentioned miscarriage as one of the ways Jinns affect human beings. Two, I doubt if it will be a mere coincidence that the bird keeps coming and crying everynight.

The solution has been mentioned by Mukina and Olabowale already. Get a tape, get ruqya cassettes, and play constantly in the household. Ruqya cassettes normally contain Ayatul kursiyyu,  suratul nas, falaq, Jinn, baqarah and other exorcist verses and surat. Play constantly in the household. Recite kursiyyu, suratul nas and falaq often, especially before going to bed. If you have anything fetish(like charm,amulets etc) in the household, please remove. As much as possible open display of pictures should be done away with. And most importantly, have trust in Allah.

Insha Allah, this will work. Ayatul kursiyyu worked for even a non-Muslim, as narrated by a nairalander that used it when Jinns were disturbing him in his household, how much more a believer. Again, faith and trust in Allah is very important.

In addition all form of musics should not be played in the house and make sure u say Bis millah to every action you take be it eating, leaving the house etc.
