Just before Adebayo passed on to the great beyond, his last words were curses pronounced on his childhood friend, Chief Kolawole. With tears and pain tearing his heart apart, Adebayo made a declaration that no child of Chief Kolawole will leave long enough to bury him. Sympathizers around were baffled by this pronouncement. Some even said the injury Adebayo suffered must have being the cause for his utterances. Kolawole is his childhood friend, so why rain curses on him. Well, only Adebayo knew the pain he was going through for him to have rained this heavy curse that all parents wish and pray heavily against.
Mr Adebayo was a very noble and humble man blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and a son. Though the messenger of wealth didn’t smile on him, he was contented with what he has. His honour and integrity comes before all other things. His favourite proverb was the Yoruba proverb that says “Oruko rere san ju wura ati fadaka lo (a good name is better than wealth)”.
His childhood friend, Chief Kolawole, grew up to be a very wealthy and influential personality in the community. His love for money and women can be met by none-other. Adebayo distanced himself from him for many years so as not to be influenced by his dirty politics and evil ways.
One of Adebayo’s daughter Omolewa is an epitome of beauty. Her white teeth glows with the glory of the sun, her pretty blue eyes if gazed upon will provide comfort for the beholder. When she smiles, a sadist will instant burst into laughter. She is a complete human being with the humble character of her father.
As the time for beauty contest in the community near, she was encouraged by everybody around her to take part in the contest. She approached her father for approval but he denied it saying he doesn’t want unnecessary attention. After much plea from the neighbours and the extended family, he obliged. There was no doubt that she will win the contest. She is just way beautiful.
On the said day, dignitaries from around gathered to witness one of the ways God smile on individuals. Kings, chiefs and important individual of the community gathered to witness the captivating event. Well the event went as expected, omolewa was crowned the queen of beauty. She defeated all her counterparts with ease. Chief Kolawole’s imagination was already running wide, he has started to UnCloth the beautiful young lady in his mind. He just can’t wait to see how beautiful she would be on the inside, how it will feel to have the pretty young lady bath for him and all sought of erotic stuffs invaded his mind.
After making enquiry about the background of his new fantasy lady, he soon found out about her parenthood. Without wasting any more time, he approached his childhood friend Adebayo on his marriage proposal. Adebayo was angered by this ungodly requested. “You are old enough to be her father, she is even not of age, are you this shameless?” He ordered Kolawole out of his house and also angrily called him names.
Kolawole won’t take “No” for an answer. He must see what her inner skin looks like especially the shape of heart breast. In his own mind, he is just too powerful and rich to be refused of any request made by him. Without thinking twice, he called on his boys to get the girl by hook or by crook. The boy got to work at once. “Hello! The devil has come to have a chat with you”, those are the words of the messengers of death to Adebayo. Horror broke down at Adebayo’s house, there was struggle, and he won’t sit by and watch as his pretty faced daughter is dragged away. Getting frustrated by the resistance, the thugs shot dead the boy and his sister and fatally wounded Adebayo and finally succeeded in taking Omelewa away. It was with his dying breath that Adebayo rained those curses on Kolawole; who wouldn’t have in that position. Hmmm, a gentle soul is gone……. Adebayo, the soft spoken humble man has gone to the land of no return.
