I just upgraded my Ram from 3gig to 4gig but my system does not want to utilize the new RAM. The PC has 2 RAM slots and i put 2gig RAM in each slot. What could be the solution to this issue?

You are running a 32bit windows operating system. There is a limit on RAM usage on machines with 32bit OS. You can get a systems engineer to upgrade the OS to a 64bit windows operating system. |

247Potential & bodejohn Thanks for the post. So to rectify the issue I have to reformat my pc thereby losing all my apps, data and settings? That's messed up because I actually bought the ram because of an application I use which required it. I have never reformatted this pc since I got it 2 years ago and now because of new RAM I have to wipe it clean? So anyone with a PC with above 3GB RAM must be on a 64bit setting? |

its using it its not neglecting it.its telling you that the remaining space can be use when you use a ram consuming app. 32bit os uses maximum of 4gig set by the os. |
