Greenify is good Application for enforcing apps from autostart ... Put them into Auto Hibernation and do some pretty awesome customization to your phone .

Install ShutApp.. You gon lovit!

Try Opera Max,download and install then swipe to the monthly usage section where you'll see Apps by usage,from there you can block Apps you don't want to be using up your data..

der was a time my Internet meter was just reading & i wasn't operating my fone, i tried opening sites it wasn't still going thru, nt until i uninstalled de app my data was sapping,op please use other methods as specified above except this

Don't get yourself confused,the data you see reading on your Internet Meter is actually the sum total of ALL your applications data consumption which is being channeled through it as it acts as a VPN and not the App itself consuming your data..
Yes,it certainly consumes a little bit of your battery as that is only logical,but not enough to be worried about and if your phone wasn't browsing,blame the issue on your device as I have used it on at least 4 different devices over the last 3 years and I have not encountered any such issue..
The App itself is owned by Opera Software,makers of Opera Browsers and thus highly secured..so based on my EXPERIENCE over several devices,I'll recommend it to anyone in need of such an App and let the person make up his own mind about it..
