A report reaching us now is that The Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has just suspended its 7 weeks strike that was embarked on since June 6,2016 to July 25,2016

The union directed its members to stay off work since June 6 over unpaid salaries for workers and pensions for retirees.

We gathered from reliable sources that the suspension came as a result of intensive meeting between NLC and Oyo state Government. It was also reported that the meeting concluded at the late hours of Monday.

It was learnt that Governor Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo State Governor) agreed to paying two of the seven months salaries that the government owed the workers.

While establishing the suspension of the strike, Oyo NLC Vice Chairman, Mr Titilola Sodo said that the agreed two months salary will be paid as from today henceforth.

He also declared that immediate release of promotion letters to concerned workers. was also part of the consensus they had on Monday night
