Former Super Eagles Captain, 'Joseph Yobo' was unveiled as the global ambassador of the NPFL 'Nigerian Premier Football League" on Monday in Abuja,
by FIFA's president Mr Gianni Infantino who is on a two days working visit to Nigeria


Joseph Yobo, who spread the news across to his fans via his Twitter handle, said,;

“Honored to be unveiled @LMCNPFL Ambassador by @FIFA President Gianni Infantino. We must develop our Local League.”

This new development is indeed a positive one, as the (LMC) The League Management Company would tap into the wealth of experience and connections of the erstwhile Super Eagles and Everton FC Skipper to promote the local league and make it more appealing for corporate sponsorship through rebranding.

It would be re-called that Joseph Yobo represented the Super Eagles at (3) FIFA World Cups and six African Cup of Nations tournaments (leading the team to win the 2013 edition of the tournament held in South Africa), before announcing his retirement after the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. making him the highest ever capped player to play for the national team with a record breaking 101 appearances in the national colors.
