Kabayan is a collection of man made caves in The Philippines. Each cave is filled with mummies. Kabayan mummies are some of the best preserved on earth, and Kabayan is overflowing with them. And there are so many caves that it’s easy to get lost…among thousands of mummies…that look spry enough to leap right out of their pods.

Evacuated a few days after the Chernobyl disaster, Pripyat was once home to 50,000 people but now it stands completely abandoned. Hospitals, theme parks and playgrounds are desolate landmarks from a society forced to leave their lives behind them, and due to radiation it remained completely uninhabited for over two decades. However, the Ukrainian government has now begun to allow tourists to visit the city due to a decrease in the possibility of radiation poisoning.

Matsuo Ghost Mine

Located in northern Japan, this was once the largest sulfur mine in the Far East. After closing in the 70′s however, it was abandoned and the only thing remaining are the large residential complexes that used to house all of the workers. What makes this place so creepy though is the heavy mist that constantly shrouds the area. It’s so heavy in fact that some people have reported taking days to find the place.

The Catacombs
Paris doesn’t immediately spring to mind when thinking about the creepiest places on earth. But underneath the croissants and cobblestone streets are miles of underground tunnels. And those tunnels are filled with the bones of dead Frenchmen.

When Paris’ cemeteries began to fill up, the French simply began to shove corpses away underground. At last count, there were around 6 million bodies stored in the deep, dank passageways of Paris.
