  Stranded gas fields are offshore gas fields that are located  several miles from the shore and are not feasible to produce due to lack of infastructure.
   Floating Lng  offers Oil&Gas companies means to develop stranded or offshore gasfields economically with little impact on the enivornment.Flng is synomous of FPSO(a floating production,Storage and offloading vessel) which   process and stores oil offshore.

A FloatingLNG  is a Ship or a Barge that has an LNG plant built on it, with the capacity to liquefy gas, store the LNG,and produced  LPG(liquified petroleum gas) and NGL (Natural gas liquids)as well as offloading them to LNGcarriers.

Developing FLNG ships require a lot of technical and Economic inputs. Safety measures must be implemented in the design of this vessels and also measures to mitigate the effects of Process Harzards that are inherent in process plants with limited space must also be incorporated in the design.other challenges are issue of loading and offloading at turbulent seas,sloshing in partial filled tanks,effect of sea motion on vessels.
A close collobration between the Oil majors and Oil Serviceing and Equipment providers have led to breakthrough in solving most of this Challenges.

The FLNG offers a lot of opportunities to not only the Oil&Gas Operators ,but also to governments(Resources Owners) job market,Oil&Gas servicing Companies and contractors. FloatingLNG vessel PFLNG SATU in the Month of March .the Vessel will be moored at the Kanowit gas field 180KM(112miles) offshore Sarawak ,Malaysia . it has capacity to produce 1.2Million metric tonnes of LNG per year. DSME-TECHNIP Consortuim performed the engineering ,procurement &
Construction work for the Vessel and Topsides.

This is a major milestone for the entire Energy Industry and one that holds good fortune for everyone.

It is a pity that Petronas, which is a State owned Oil company of Malaysia, is breaking new grounds and expanding globally .while Our  NNPC is still crippled  with Corruption and incompetency .they are still enable to thrive in their local Domain,how much more to compete with their peers .Petronas(Malaysia)Petrobras(Brazil) Statoil(Norway) and SaudiAramaco( Saudi Arabia).
