University of Lagos, UNILAG senate approved modalities for post UTME screening form admission into the university for the 2016/2017 academic session.

The Senate of University of Lagos has approved the modalities for 2016/2017 admission into the institution and it is stated as below:

Equal weights will be allotted to Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board score and Senior School Certificate Examination grades in relevant subjects, that is, 50% for JAMB score and 50% for O’level results to make a total of 100% .


Relevant subjects are the subjects prescribed for a course and advertised by JAMB. The credit passes obtained in those O’level subjects are the credits to be weighted. Where less than five (5) relevant subjects are prescribed for a course, the credit passes in the prescribed subjects will be weighted as well as the next best results.

CRITICAL NOTES

The aggregate score will be used to determine the cut-off point for admission into each of the programmes.

Cut-off points for each course will be determined by the performance of all the candidates who applied for the course.

Admission will be undertaken in line with JAMB and National Universities Commission guidelines.

This people have only come to damage our educational sector.

With this latest development,many will resort to miracle centres both in jamb and waec examinations.

To be sincere with myself,unlike before now,I'll advise anyone to patronise miracle centres if need be since It determines one's fate.

Many schools which have been known for their credility and transparency will aptly encourage malpractices; This will not only spell doom but will favour the highest bidders.

It's so fortunate that our leaders are so shortsighted just because their wards are not caught up with this mess and the sole called 'university admistrators' are afraid and no one wants to be a victim.

The new jamb registrar with the magnamity of his office should stop this.

I'm neither in support of pume nor screening but this o level thing is a scam.

If one writes waec exams his/herself,five credits should be enough.
