Flashback:

MATCH DAY 1
The opening match was well attended with the presence of the Egyptian president Mubarak, Fifa president,Sepp Blatter, Hossam Hassan, Issa Hayatou etc and a sell-out crowd of over 74,000 fans who all had a good time watching the future stars who treated the crowd to good football artistery.
Game Summary:
30,
A brilliant solo run from the young man, beat the defenders with his pace and coolly slotting the ball
home with his left foot to give the hosts their 1st Goal and also the 1st goal of this tournament.
36,
Thompson made a run from his half into the pharaohs, slack defending by the hosts gifted Rochford the ball and he nicely slot home the equalizer.
51,
An in-Player from the right flank met by an Egyptian and was brilliantly saved by Samuel (T&T Goal keeper) led to a corner kick which was beautifully delivered but was not cleared convincingly and fell to Arafat, who calmly took his shot, came off the crossbar, met Thompson on the goal line and straight into the net for the young pharaohs to take the lead.
59,
A long range effort from Arafat was not well held by Samuel,it came off him and talaat was there to slot in the rebound to give the hosts a 2-goal lead.
85,
Ouch! Clarence had a chance to reduce the tally but he played it against the upright!
86,
Talaat was taken off the field after it appeared that he had gotten himself injured
93,
I thought the game had ended only for me to see the ball at the back of the net, another good strike from Arafat just inside the 18-yard box beat the T&T GK to make it 4-1 in favor of the hosts and also made Arafat the leading scorer of the Tournament with 2 goals.

-> 3 Yellow cards were shown to the host while T&T picked 1

FT: It's all over here in Alexandria, it's finished
Egypt 4, Trinidad & Tobago 1

Good win for the Hosts o, Paraguay and italy might not be very easy for them.

MATCH DAY 2

The second match of the tournament started with much anticipation, a lot of us were looking out for more goals after the 1st match had produced 5 goals on the opening night. However, it was not to be as the first 2 matches produced just 1 goal. Earlier, paraguay and Italy played out a “nil-all” draw, with a game that was purely dominated by the south americans, the italians were lucky to have finished the game in a draw. With this result, the hosts confidence has been boosted and they can be so sure of picking a second round ticket.
However, the 2nd match produced an upset as debutant Venezuelans shocked pre- tournament favorites, Nigerians with a 1- nil defeat of the Africans. In a game that produced a not too convincing 1st half display from the Nigerians, Things got worse in the 1st half, when Haruna Lukman launched a late tackle on a Venezuelan and was shown a red card. The only goal of the game also came deep into the 1st half when the Nigerian defense couldn’t manage a set-piece and striker del vallez was left unmarked in the box and he took his shot at goal but for the mistimed dive by the impressive naija goalie gave the Debutant their 1st goal. A more determined 10-man Nigerian side came out in the 2nd half but couldn’t find the back of the net, had all the possession but lacked quality finishing, the substitutions made by the coach couldn’t break the Jinx that has been haunting Nigeria since the inception of this Tournament- “NEVER BEATEN A SOUTH AMERICAN NATION”. All hope is not lost has the team’s 2nd half display shows that they can still progress in the tournament.
The final game of the day saw a match that looked more like a training session for the young Spaniards, they gave the young boys from an island called Tahiti a quality football lesson by putting 8 goals past them scoring 4 goals in each half with 3 players getting a brace. Nigeria needs to pick at least 4points from the remaining 2 matches o have any hope of qualifying. Next group matches holds on Monday with Nigeria taking on Spain and Venezuela tackling the Tahitians.

The loss means Brian Eastick's squad continues England's miserable run in the U-20 FIFA World Cup with no goals in their last seven matches and no wins in their last eight.

This is a clear sign of Mental Illness.

WHAT A GOAL BY THE URUGUAYAN I MUST SAY

Only against the junior lizards of England.

No be today dem dey take England score spectacular goals the players to dense.

The best goal of the world cup of all time was scored against the clueless English team not forgetting the Ronaldinho step overs that paralysed Cashley Cowle.

or Sakiri scoring directly from a corner kick against David "Idiot" Seaman all in international games

Honduras! Oh what a team, technical, fast and yes, brilliant.
They sank Hungary. Lovely. cracking goal. . .all of them!
South Africa on the other hand could only manage a draw against UAE. (kai, I never even knew they play football there grin)

Oh dear! did you see Uruguay's goal against England? TOP CLASS.

As for The Samba boys. . .hmmmm. They play with such fluidity. Hope y'all watched their clinically executed demolition job against Costa Rica?

Italians are so far the worst team in the tournament. Such a dull team. Forget Tahiti for they at least tried to string some passes together.  wink

Updates:
Brazil 5 - 0 Costa Rica
CZE 2 - 1 Australia
UAE 2 -2 RSA
Honduras 3- 0 Hungary
