President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed doubts over his ability to fulfill his campaign records, Daily Post reports
Buhari, who was made this shocking declaration during the graduation ceremony of Course 24 of the National Defence College, Abuja, noted that he would fulfill the promises he made before becoming president, but admitted that it would be a tough task.
“Let me assure you all that this administration is committed to bequeathing to this nation, a new orientation in leadership that will be service-driven and committed to the realisation of its promises to the electorates.
“We are however not under any illusions that this task is an easy one.
“But we have put our trust in God knowing that with hard work and sound vision, we will triumph,” he was quoted to have said.
The president has been under fire recently over his inability to hold the country together in the wake of economic crisis all over the federation.
One of such criticisms came from controversial Catholic priest Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, who sent a strong message to the president in a recent sermon.
Father Mbaka blasted the incumbent president over the economic hardship destroying the country resulting from what he defined as poor leadership under the Buhari-led government.
He stated that the president should know that Nigerians may vote him out in the next presidential election.
The preacher said that Nigerians are clearly getting tired continuing that he campaigned against the ex-president Goodluck Jonathan because of the extensive corruption in the last administration in the hope that Buhari’s government would be better after his avowed declaration to fight corruption.
