Does Your Sim Have This Bug? (photo) by 4Qbitch: 3:37am On Aug 10, 2016
My airtel SIM card continues to send imaginary text messages at intervals, sometimes several times within a minute! This drains my airtime and battery.

I don't know how to deal with this bug/problem. CC (surprisingly unskilled) was unable to help resolve this.

Has anyone experienced this dangerous bug, and how did you eliminate it?

*modified:
-I have no antivirus or anti theft app installed on my fone (iphone)
-I experienced d same problem on putting d airtel sim in another phone (Nokia torch). So it's a SIM issue.

Try a mobile anti virus, or factory reset

dnt always blame CC for everything( put ur self in d CC's shoes, if i asked what d issue is frm u, obviously u have no idea, CC associates ar nt trained to kno EVERYTHING ). did u try ur sim in another phone and same happened? sometimes, itz, ur phone, nt d ntwk provier or CCA's fault.... if u av imo application on ur phone, delete it, if u ar using an iPhone, turn off ur face time and imessenger

It's most likely an anti-theft app. Does it happen when you've just switched on your phone? You can check if you installed an anti-theft app (and it's likely gonna be in stealth mode so you might not see it in the app drawer) or other antivirus. You can also try putting your sim in another phone to see if the problem is from your sim or phone.

Using an iphone. I didn't install anti theft or antivirus. Other sims work perfectly on this phone that's y I think it's a sim issue.

Now he is blaming the CC again for his own personal problem.

What app did u install on your phone recently? try and put the sim in another phone then see how it goes.

i once had an issue like this and it was caused by an anti theft program i installed.

Tried sending u a PM buh it appears I can't do that on Airtel freebasics mode (I stopped recharging d sim because of this issue). I'll send it later wif my alternate sim network.

When d message was sent last? As I type I've had it happen over 8 times! But the first time I ever noticed it, they deducted 15 Naira. In fact it literally drained d credit I had then. So I stopped recharging.

I'm going thro all this headache simply because I get bank SMS notifications on this line, otherwise I would v flushed it down my drain since day one.

How often? Does it deduct money from ur balance? If yes how much?

From what I'm seeing, that's just an advert. No sms has been sent.

Madam.. its simple your boyfriend or parent is tracking you and your location. So ur sim always sends a message to a particular number. You can call customer care to resolve the issue or just save the sim and get another one.
