The middle class are where the true believers live. The people who believe in hard work, the people who are the most moral, the people who believe 'everyone is basically good.' They usually believe in God and think that things will work out.


If you need drugs, hookers or the name of a good criminal defense lawyer ask the richest or poorest people you know. Middle class people will just look at you funny.

You want to Bleep a girl on the first date? Make sure her family is rich or broke. The middle class girl is too worried about your opinion of her after the fact.

If you want the best deal on a consumer product, head straight to your middle class friends. The rich and the poor overpay for everything.

There are exceptions.

First generation rich folks (the successful startup guy, the lottery winner, the guy who got a big inheritance, the Wall Street hire ) tend to bring their middle class values with them, but it only lasts (on average) about half a generation. Typically after 20 years of serious wealth their values change.

Whether that is good or bad is open to interpretation.
