Students, Which Textbooks Do You Need? Let’s Buy Them For You! by digitizemybooks: 9:20am On Aug 17, 2016 |
Hello Nairalanders! You are all welcome to be part of this thread. WHO’S TALKING? WE are fellow naija students, who have been thinking of how to ease the burden of expensive textbooks, as a new session is about to start. We’ve been wondering, “Is there no way to help students get textbooks on a more convenient basis? Wouldn’t there be more capable graduates if we had better access to the textbooks we need?” WHAT IS THIS ABOUT? This is a new thread for solutions to STUDENTS’ problems in the area of EDUCATIONAL TEXTBOOKS that are so IMPORTANT yet so COSTLY. With the help and contribution of other students, we are starting a virtual LENDING LIBRARY where you can access textbooks through your email box, for a token fee. WHO IS IT FOR? This thread is for students from every type of institution, whether College of Education, Polytechnic, University (public or private), and even secondary school students etc; at every level of study, whether writing NECO/WAEC, 100-400/500 level, Post-graduate etc; in all courses, faculties and departments within Nigeria. HOW DOES IT WORK? IT CAN ONLY WORK IF WE DO IT TOGETHER. Firstly, naija students, respond to this post by telling us your level, faculty/department, type of institution, then submit titles of textbooks required in your own school, on your own course [title, author, current edition] (whether you have them or not). Your list will help us build a library of current textbooks. PLEASE START RESPONDING NOW! Secondly, no one wants to infringe on copyright laws and fair use, so for further inquiries on ‘HOW TO’ please send an email to digitizedtextbooks@gmail.com. Your email should specify your institution, level, course and which textbooks you are interested in. IMPORTANT: Please reply/ post a comment if you come across a textbook posted by another student which you either do not have but would like to get, or do have and would like to share. Thanks and once again, you are all welcome! |
