Can you compare the Chinese preparations with that of Nigeria?

The Chinese go round their country, select children,lock them up in specialist sports schools for years....and then unleash them on the world...after intense training.

The schools are a success....but for every successful graduate...many do not make the grade.

The Old East Germany had a similar system.

Also...China is an industrial nation....and has the money to fund athletics....Not like resource dependent Nigeria...who is broke....even in times of plenty.

Is he suppose to sponsor them at all? Govt failed to do that at the begining, so he is doing what he is not obliged to do at a time that he deems fit.

.We all know those boys could've won gold, they have the potentials. But this country is too useless. One thing I've learnt in Nigeria is to never make sacrifices for this country, Nigeria is not worth dying for. Btw kudos to those boys, they played their own part.

No....Nigeria would not have won gold....for the follwing reasons

1.Germany has a good youth system, where thousands of kids are trained every year....and they also have at least 2000 youth coaches trained to UEFA B standard (Even England does not have that many! Also....the basic qualification for a youth coach in Europe is UEFA C)

2.Nigerian coaches are poor in tactics. Siasia should have changed tactics when we were down 1-0....but he did not.Just kept on doing the same thing...and lost.

Back in 2001...at the FIFA U17 cup in Trinidad and Tobago....we beat France U17 2-1 in the group stage...and lost to them in the final....because French coaches knows their tactics.

3.German lads were bigger and stronger than our boys. I watched them v Portugal. That is when I knew we were not going to win.

4.We lost two key players....real bad luck.

5.Germany has a well defined team based style. They play as a unit (They are not called the German Machine for nothing).Nigeria....meh.

If a foreigner, a private citizen and business man from Japan can donate to appreciate our Olympics football team, where the Nig Billionaires and National Assembly members who rate their money from our commonwealth, our soil and resources? The oil subsidy billionaires where were they when our Athletes were looking for sponsors?
A senator or House can finance an athlete training for a year at a time.

We must first start early by genetic mapping of kids who by genes stand better chances at some sports or the other.

Not taking to sport when all others has failed to work.
