Hello ladies,please would like to know when a woman can conceive during her cycle? Can a woman conceive if she sleeps with her man a day after 5 days menses and on the 12th day of her cycle? What symptoms are noticed when conception takes place? What if she starts feeling hot internally,having a funny feeling like when menses want to start and abdominal cramps. If you have being pregnant before,please can you share what you noticed at the early stage and how you monitor your ovulation. Lastly,is it all women who ovulate that have mucus secretions,at that time? 1 Like |

bamboke: Eggs are viable up to 24 hours, whilst sperm can last up to 7 days. If you bleed every 25 days, your ovulation date is the 13th day. If you bleed every 26 days, your ovulation period is btw the 13th and 14th day. If you bleed every 27 days, your ovulation date is the 14th day. If you bleed every 28 days, your ovulation date is the 14th and 15th day. and so on and so forth, and of course this dates can change slightly if the body has been subjected to stress. In order not to confuse you with the bog standard 28 days, how many days apart are your period and how many days do they run for? |

bamboke: Then your ovulation day is day 15 and day 16. To be on the safe side, if you don't want to get pregnant and you are using the calender or rhythm method, you'd be advised to abstain from sex from day 8 to day 22. If a lady sleeps with a man 5 days after her period, it is unlikely she will get pregnant, but the risk is much more higher if she has sexual intercourse on the 12th day of her cycle because the sperm can live up to 7 days i.e. day 19, a period when the Egg could be released. And as for the symptoms you mentioned, it varies from woman to woman, and because the conception date starts counting from the first day of your last period, it is possible to feel a little bit of fluttering in your belly during the first month of the pregnancy. So lets assume your last period was on the 3th of August and you had sexual intercourse during your unsafe period, and you missed your period 30 days later on the 2th of September, you would be 8 weeks pregnant today. |

The average time of ovulation is the fourteenth day of an average length (twenty-eight day) menstrual cycle. It is normal for the day of ovulation to vary from the average, with ovulation anywhere between the tenth and nineteenth day being common. Cycle length alone is not a reliable indicator of the day of ovulation. However this myth got started, it is not an accurate way to calculate ovulation, because many women do NOT ovulate on the 14th day of their cycle. Can I get pregnant during my period? Pregnancy can occur from intercourse that takes place during a period.
