Now, that’s the story and the message was that ,you can make call and forget your on calls because it’s basically cheap . Now , we have always known that talk is cheap but what about impression and representation of people’s sensibilities? That’s isn’t cheap. The advert portrayed these .

Let’s break it down, the advert made it “cool” that you can afford to be indifferent to your job and when things go wrong,There is always valid excuse to give, thereby encouraging escapist tendency instead of owing up to responsibilities. This was shown when the house boy was giving excuses why the food got burnt and the husband supported that.

The second point is basic. We know Airtel as a firm has origins in Asia. That’s not a problem and we welcome foriegn direct investments. But we have to put the cultural milieu of the business location in consideration before some things can be aired. Maybe the advert company that directed and produced that advert might be Asians . I am not sure about this ,but it is not African scene to see a woman reading newspaper in the house while the food is burning. This scene is so wrong that we in Nigeria are patrilineal and there are basic roles both sexes play in homes and this advert did portray the wrong image. In a nutshell, the Airtel advert made it so cool that a woman can read paper and the food burbs while the husband looks on. Yes, we have women emancipation but also even in West which I know, women still do the cooking but I don’t know for India. Maybe the Indian firm is trying to do cultural indoctrination. Kids are watching these and as a father in a traditional African home, This advert is disturbing....https://etimesafrica./2016/08/21/airtel-advert-so-unnigerian/

Nothing is wrong with that...this is a globalised world...and civilised too. Maybe you also look into nollywood movies and point out the cultural stuffs too.
