Obviously the POS was issued by a bank to a known customer(merchant) of the bank. With this the culprits could be traced and arrested. Govt really need to wake up and tackle this one chance of a thang. God save us and Op God will replenish ur loss in many folds. Take heart |

Dnt just enter any commercial bus without stylish viewing at any bus stop or patiently waiting for BRT bus. And dont fall for those who are parading themselves with telecommunications buses to sell out sim or register sim.Don't enter any telecommunication buses to register yer sim,it is dangerous. |

And also note this.. I know most often time lagosians have to wake up early to meet up in other to avoid traffic, cover distance quickly and all. . 89% - 95% of people who accidentally gets involved with theses one chance drama are usually within the hours of 5am to 6am.. except for the dare devil ones who can operate from 6:30 am till sunshine. Avoid leaving home to early. .that's where they take advantage my fear also are for those who have to return home quite late, that's another timing for those bastard.. Let's all be careful, watchful and vigilant at all cost.. truth is : our own security is in our hands. I have two bank accounts, I don't mind putting all the huge money in one acc and leave the ATM at home and transfer a chunk sum of money, which I know I can afford to loose or spend if need, maybe 5-10k.. U will recover again in full Op... Gods grace . 1 Like |

Banks only release payment information on production of a court order. The best thing these days is to just carry cash that you will use for the day. Even phones leave at home or carry the cheapest mobile. |

My advice to minimize risks of total loss in this kinds of situation is: Have more than one account, have more than one ATM card for your own convenience, but make it a point of duty to only carry one ATM card that has minimal balance according to your needs for the day. Internet banking na im sure pass, if you need to do large transactions or transfers, you can transfer from your other accounts electronically. Some people have had to learn the hard way, don't be among the number. May God save us all. |

Its cos of these kinda things i don't carry my ATM around again.. I rather do a Cardless Withdrawal or Online Transfer than Carry my ATM around.. |

Emmanueloy: You should report this case to the police, they even use pos which means they can be tracked down with the pos registration name, you also capture the numbers written on their number plate that makes your trace perfect, in other to help others, I hope you have reported this case to the police for possibility of tracking them down |

UndisputedBosom: Better option is to have 2 bank account, one with atm n other without atm. Launch both account on internet or online banking. Account without atm should be official deposit. When u need cash just transfer on spot to the atm account n easily make your withdrawal. Dont leave cash unnecessarily inside the atm account. |

Emmanueloy: Did they use your ATM card on the POS machine? If they did, you may be able to catch the thieves. Every POS machine is registered to a business/owner. Your bank can help find out who that POS machine is registered to. |

Hello Emmanuel Joy, Sorry 4 ur loss. I work with a financial Services company in Nigeria. If ur money was actually stolen via a POS machine I might be able to trace it. I recommend the following 1. Request ur Bank Statement to trace the recipient 2. Provide the following details so I can assist Your ATM CARD NUMBER but mask it like 506124*********3656, date it was stolen, bank and amount. I will post my findings here based on ur feedback it u believe I can help. All da best.. NB-some pos machine are being hacked so no guarantees but will do my best. Emmanueloy: |

One chance has been there for many years but this ur own is a whole new strategy cos the presence of the police will not raise suspicion at all. What I normally do is try scan the eyes of the passengers. Is a random thing nd my instinct never fails me. You will see some of them with red eyes and when u look directly on them it blinks severally pls run that's a red flag 2 Likes |
