Most drivers like an average Nigerian worker is lazy,so paying them salary will make them comfortable and work less. rate them on commission bases, the more you work the more you earn. transport business is profitable if well managed, but very risky in view of Nigerian roads and accident rate is high. i have seen many new transporters lose their investment and close shop as they cant compete or operated at a loss and after the initial fleet cannot replace or renew their aging fleet. All in all is a risk worth taking but you must be personally involved.

ifyalways: You are on the right track.
Another route which most ppl take to avoid police disturbance is to register their fleets as state govt owned.eg ITC ie imo transport corporation. To do that,u have to go to the state owned bus office, settle them and then they wud register your buses as theirs. It wud be loading from their parks,be painted and numbered as state owned and enjoys special priviledges like govt owned buses  wink They only get to take a certain percentag,i think loading fees from each bus that loads and leaves from the park. Most ppl/customers prefer govt owned buses,I am sure u know that.
Dont forget the road safety and their gadgets.
bros abeg no try am, i di dat wiv ITC, ABIA LINE they are fucking reap offs, for a hummer hiace buss doyou know i was to make 300k per month which i did nt even see complete 4 1 month.they load all thier buses first bfor urs.

Please be wary of this guy called Ekitikan (also uses ‘Gade’ on this forum - although it appears he has now deleted that ID). He is a fraudster! I am talking from personally experience after responding to one of his adverts on Nairaland. A word is enough for the wise!!

I posted something on another thread not too long ago about Transportation business opportunity and it has not yet been utilized. If you have a bus, you can make at least N5000 per day asides maintenance or driver allowance. It is a special arrangement I tried to do with NURTW. You will have the bus in the garage normally but you are sure of your income everyday without problem just like any transporter. This arrangement is for Ife-Ore route only. If you have one or two buses, you are welcome but I dont want it to be more than 3 buses at a time at most. It is a first come, first serve arrangement as I would not want too many buses in my hands to administer. You will just have to pay NURTW registration dues to get this done.
You can call for more details on 08069638717.

In Orlando the best warehousing service is given by Orlando Warehousing Company. There is a lot of space here in the warehouse. The best trucks are carrying the goods. There are rail tracks also. The environment in the warehouse is properly maintained. Warehouse helps manufacturer meet the demand of the goods when the production rate is slowed down.

Re: Passenger Transportation Business ? by kayjegs: 10:02am On Jan 19, 2013
You could go into Taxi or Cab transportation in Nigeria quite easily. You need to choose a route to ply within a city, and register with NURTW on that particular route. Registration is not more than N15,000. However, you will be paying for some ticketing everyday to the Union members, though this may not affect your profit if calculated well.
An average of N1000 can be made within one hour of commercial cab driving. Working from 7am to 8 pm in the evening is about 13 hours. Which means 13 x N1000 = N13,000. And we can assume about 50 litres of fuel will be consumed daily which is at a cost of about N5,500 plus N1000 for total ticketing costs. Profit to be accrued daily = N13,000 – N5,500 –N1000 = N6,500.
For a 25 day work, profit = N162,500. You can remove about N20,000 monthly maintenance cost from this amount and then the real profit is N162,500 – N20,000 = N142,500/month.
These are ideal costs and profits, though there could be variations towards a down trend.
You could get a tokunbo car for about N400,000-N600,000 so you can know how to calculate your profit from this explanation.

Won't mind getting a proposal on this too, tommysport4ever@yahoo.com. Moreover, I'm about starting an interstate taxi transport business with just a VW car, but one thin still gets me worried, how does one keep the driver in check so he won't finally be able to abscond with one's car, and do you think a car tracker is needed for this kinda local business?

What an educative thread this is... please @ fhemmy, how much can one get a fairly used Toyota hiace bus in Canada or USA? I have the intention of either driving it myself or hiring a driving and going with him on the journey's, depending... Either way. The second one is, can one register his/her bus with ABC transport and drive the himself? Thanks
