Masters in Engineering will forever be relevant. Professional certification might not be relevant in the next few years. A superior certification will surely over-take it. Note PMP, PRINCE2, NEBOSH are not engineering certification. PMP is project management, NEBOSH is Health and safety certification. I ask yourself this question. How many engineering job advert do u see that require all these certifications. But almost all the engineering advert will mention Masters in Engineering 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Mbkite: No doubts professional certifications (e.g NEBOSH, CCIE, MCSE, etc) are more regarded in today's job market and pays better than masters degree. The thing is.... If you have the time now(not yet working), I advice u go for ur masters degree first cos u won't have that much time wen u land a gud job. Professional courses can be taken any time and it's less time consuming compared to the masters. 4 Likes |

chiben1983: You are very very correct. Professional certification remain the best. I read linguistics and i did Nebosh, which i am using to work as a Safety Engr.. My University certificate is not relevant to my field of work...So, professional certification is far better than masters. |
