Buh, this is my own opinion.

It has to be Ronaldo

Look the nearest contender other than Ronaldo is Luis Suarez as he has won LaLiga and Copa Del Rey. On the other hand Ronaldo has a Uefa Champions League and Uefa Euro Cup in his trophy cabinet. Winning UCL alone is bigger than winning domestic titles moreover Ronaldo has a trophy for his COUNTRY #EuroCup which is more than any club title. Pele & Maradona are considered The Greatest of all time because they have made their respective countries World Champions.

Now coming to Lionel Messi

Being teammates whatever Messi has won Luis Saurez has also won it (Laliga & Copa Del Rey) but as we all know Saurez had been a better performer than Messi. Saurez scored 40 goals in Laliga whereas Messi scored only 26 goals. So clearly at club level Saurez had been better than Messi.

Messi only had good run in Copa America but unfortunately he missed that crucial penalty in the finals and eventually didn't win Copa America.

As far as Ronaldo's individual performance goes:

1) Ronaldo's hattrick against Wolfsburg was the reason Real made it to the next level.

2) His decision to take the pressure of scoring the winning penalty against Atletico in the UCL final

3) His two goals and a Assist against Hungary otherwise they would have been knocked out of the Euros

4) His towering header against Wales in Euro semifinal and an assist to Nani.

5) The way he motivated the team in the Euro Final. He acted as a coach

6) Ronaldo has scored more than 50 goals for the sixth consecutive season. That's a Record

All this clearly shows how he single handedly carried the team

He is the top scorer of UCL 2017, joint All time Top scorer of Euros, All time top Scorer of Champions league, second top scorer of La Liga.

Ballon D'Or voting will begin from October so there is still time for him to perform more.

Ronaldo Will win the Ballon D'Or 2017 for sure

If Ronaldo doesn't win it then this award is a CRAP
