Genesis 2; 15-17

15: Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

16: And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “of every tree of the garden you may freely eat.

17: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die

God gave the man, Adam commandment not to eat of a certain tree; the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because if he does he will die. But the devil in his craftiness and subtulity deceived Adam and Eve Gen 3: 1-8. And as a result of the disobedience, man fell and died a spiritual death. Man was reduced to dust (Genesis 1; 19) and God said the serpent (Devil) would feed on dust (man) all its life. And there was a gap between man and God, because by one man’s sin, many were sinners (Romans 5: 18a & 19a).

But Jesus Christ came to the rescue of man to restore us back to God by dying and shedding his blood for us on the cross of Calvary. Before the fall, man was in charge of the earth but after the fall the devil took over the reign of the earth but Jesus Christ, through his crucification, resurrection and manifestation (1 John 3:8b) restored man back to God. His resurrection has stripped the devil off the power he snatched from man (Matthew 28: 18) and has been given back to the children of God (John 1; 12).

And that is why your deliverance is in your hands. If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour today, He will empower you to cast out devil out of your life (Mark 16: 17-18). If you will confess your sins and surrender yourself to Jesus, He will forgive you and cleanse you in His blood. He will give you the authority to tread upon the devil (Luke 10:19). Dare the devil now, walk out on him and accept Jesus Christ into your life. He will calm the storm of your life (Matthew 8: 24-27), heal your sickness and infirmities (Matthew 8: 16-17), bear your burden (Matthew 11: 28-30) and he will give you rest round about.
