There is no justifiable reason
for any pastor anywhere in the
world to use a private jet but
especially if you're in Nigeria
where a large number of your
members are probably in
poverty. Let me ask you: if
Jesus was alive today and he
was rich enough to use a
private jet, would he be using
one? I think a pastor shouldn't spend $60m (12bn to 18bn naira depending on exchange rate) on luxury transport when there are too many poor people to be helped. What do you think about a pastor owning a private jet?

Should they own a car?
You will probably say yes,cos cars are common place while jets are not,right?
To me its not about owning a car or jet,the question is at what cost?
Jet is a means of transportation, but at what cost?

if the essence of owning a private jet is to ease or enhance the pastor's movement and the private jet is within the pastor's means to afford, then no problem but if it's a matter of show up then it's bad. private jets are just means of movement just the way cars are. as long as owning a car is not bad I don't see reason why owning a private jet should be.

why not ? so far the jet wasn't acquired via dubious means , when you serve and obey God he will SURELY reward you.

but a large portion of these pastors' wealth come from the so called congregation's sweat. Why struggle to pay your tithe just to see your pastor flying a private jet? Some of today's pastors behave more like businessmen than preachers of the gospel.

You are missing it. Pastors labour to preach the word to their congregation .
Moreover we are only fulfilling the scripture by paying our tithe what the pastor do with it should not be our concern

they are human but they are servants of God. They tell us that the earth is just a market place, that heaven is our home. But they also want to show us that God is a God of prosperity. And they show God's prosperity by amassing material wealth. But Jesus was/is much more prosperous than any of them. Jesus wanted us to be prosperous by the number of people in need that we help, the number of souls we bring to the kingdom. I don't see churches doing enough in giving back to their members. All they want is for the members to sow on earth for a reward in heaven. But the pastors fly private jets on earth & the church members wallow in poverty.

Well, it all depends. If he has need of it not just for egoistic reasons, he can own one. For instance, if the nature of your ministry calling is such that you travel a lot and booking flight could sometimes be a hitch, then there is nothing wrong in having one. But if you own one and only make use of it, once or twice in a year, then it is a wasted investment.

Again Pastors that have such fund to own a private jet should also think about how they can use their wealth to better the lives of many. There should be a balance.

Your true wealth is not in what you have but in what you give away for the benefits of others and the advancement of the gospel.

If the pastor chooses to have no problem. But the means the money gotten to buy it is the problem.
