Ghost from the past has pushed popular Nollywood actor, Chidi Mokeme into depression which has led to his illness.

Barely a year after his marriage to his US based doctor wife, Chidi Mokeme got called out by his Abuja based socialite lover who claimed to have delivered a baby for him.

Chidi disowned his love child when his alleged babymama, Hajia Habiba Abubakar exposed him to media as the father of her baby. The cat was out of the bag and his marriage has never remained stable again, and right now sources close to the former GUS anchor claims that he is fighting hard to keep his marriage.

What has made this news of Chidi marital woes a concern for friends and family is the fact that, the Nollywood star has started showing physical signs of depression, which has had a huge effect on his health and his recent trip to Canada for TIFF was prescribed to help take his mind off the issues. Friends and colleagues who noticed the weight loss advice him to go for the popular movie festival in Toronto.

An insider who spoke to media revealed how his wife Jean Olumba Mokeme, has been causing him great stress, “He rarely make friends, so nobody knows what is happening with him but a friend in the us told me his wife is giving him trouble” – the source added

On why the actor is losing weight rapidly, the source said it may be connected to his marriage problem or stress from his baby mama.

Ever since he got married to his wife on April 2012 they have been living apart and when he was asked the reason for this, Chidi told Yes Magazine;

Our default setting was that I live in Nigeria and my wife lives in America and then we started a relationship and decided to take the relationship further and decided we were gonna be man and wife. So, having taken that decision and having crossed that level, the next thing is to find a way to ease into a location.

“Everybody knows that you don’t just pack your bag and move in one day. There are things that need to be sorted, relocation needs to be sorted. So, we are taking our time with it."
