Apple launched the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones to the world on September 7th at an extraordinary event in San Francisco, USA. Along with the new Apple handsets 2016 came the all new Apple Watch Series 2 smartwatch and AirPods, Apple’s new wireless earphones. Here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets and their relatives:

The Apple iPhone 7 smartphone comes with the a major improvement to all the important aspects to the iPhone.
Design.
The excellent iPhone 7 handset now comes in two new finishes - Black and Jet Black. It is water and dust resistant. It now possesses an all new Home Button which uses the Taptic Engine for sensing the amount of pressure being applied. The Home Button of the new iPhone is now customisable. This gives a better feeling for using the new and amazing iPhone. Both the 4.7-inch and 5.5 -inch models use the amazingly strong 7000 Series aluminum and they are also available in the signature Silver, Gold and Rose Gold colours. The new black model has a rich, deep matte finish while the new Jet Black model has a high-gloss finish.

Camera.
The iPhone 7 smartphone now comes with optical image stabilisation which was previously available only with the Plus models. It helps to correct the shakiness in a photo.The f/1.8 aperture allows the iPhone upto 50 percent more light than the iPhone 6s, thus enhancing the camera to take awesome low-light photos. Coupled with the new six-element lens, the new iPhone will deliver brighter and more detailed shots. The new True Tone Flash now adjusts itself to the colour temperature of the environment resulting in more sharper and brightly lit photos. The main camera is of 12MP and it lets you shoot videos in 4K resolution. The front-facing camera is now of 7MP allowing you to get more clear selfies along with a better Retina Flash.
The iPhone 7 Plus now comes with dual 12MP lens viz. Wide-angle lens and Telephoto lens. It delivers optical zoom up to 2x and digital zoom upto 10x. An all new depth-of-field effect update will be coming soon for the same.

Retina HD Display.

The Retina HD Display is now 25% brighter than the previous iPhone. More brilliant and vibrant colours can be experienced now on the new iPhone.

A10 Fusion Chip.
The A10 Fusion Chip doubles the performance of the iPhone compared to the iPhone 6. It is incredibly faster and more efficient. The iPhone 7 claims to be the iPhone with the longest battery life as the A10 Fusion chip now runs on a four-core processor which manage various tasks depending upon their power efficiency.
Storage.
The iPhone 7 now comes with double the storage than the previous gen. It now comes in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Audio.

The iPhone now comes with a stereo speaker system and is 2x louder than the iPhone 6s. Apple has now made a courageous move and have moved forward removing the headphone jack in order to manage a larger battery and the Taptic Engine within the iPhone. The typical EarPods would now deliver with a Lighting connecter cable. The iPhone 7 box would also contain a Lightning to headphone jack adapter so that users are able to use their old headphones.

AirPods.

Apple also showcased the new wireless Bluetooth headphones called as AirPods which would come with a cool charging case and can serve up to 5 hours on a full charging of 15 minutes.The AirPods arrive in Late October would be sold separately at $159.
Pricing and availability of the iPhone 7
The iPhone 7 handset will be available from September 16 and will cost at least $650 or N205,000 apiece. It will also come on stream on leading online retailers such as Amazon, Jumai, Konga, Ebay in the coming months.
