Blood Stain In Early Pregnancy by lannre(m): 4:52pm On Oct 11, 2009
My  wife  got blood  stain  after  a month  of  confirmation that she is pregnant,the Dr. said  its Malaria,though  she did  not experience such during  our first  son  era.  A  scan  has been  conducted  but  nothing  is visible yet. She was  told to come back in three weeks  time.  I am suspecting its  after  a  sexual intercourse  effect.  Reason  is that  it   normally occur in  the  Morning  after a  night  of fun.

Re: Blood Stain In Early Pregnancy by pattiano(f): 2:35pm On Oct 12, 2009
Lanre, its nothing to fear, it happened to me too but with the doctor's and God's intervention it stopped. In early pregnancy you dont have hard sex with your wife try to be gentle with her till she is 3months because the pregnancy is still a foetus. Secondly i was given a very little tablet by my doctor that also stopped the bleeding and the rest was history when i had my beautiful daughter.

Goodluck!

@lanrre

you're not bothering anybody wink . . .you have to go to another doctor to get a second opinion. when my galpal saw some drops of blood during early pregnancy, she diddnt pay much attention to it cos her doctors said it was one of those things only to have a miscarriage in the second trimester angry cry cry at least this is not your wife's first pregnancy, i guess she'll be more cautious.

if it is when she would normaly have her period then that is probably it because though rare you can still have a period in the first trimester, if after physical activity it could be a misscarriage, if at another tile it could be simple spotting (perfectly normal) or again a misscarriage. go get a second opinion.

Get the Malaria infection treated.

Avoid vigorous sex.

If the bleeding is light and has no clumps, you Could be given the all clear because it could be the dates her period normally comes and the body is still trying to adjust.

Don't miss your second appointment.

Avoid taking medication and injections if you can whilst pregnant except mild paracetamol and folic acid and iron tablets if prescribed, NO PREGNANT WOMAN HAS EVER BEEN TESTED FOR ANY MEDICATION, SO ANYTHING YOU TAKE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK - REMEMBER THALIDOMIDE - prescribed for pregnant women who were experiencing morning sickness and they ended up having babies with no limbs or deformed limbs and stunted growth sad

Lolz cheesy At least its nice to know you are on guard, because most guys hardly speak out and love to self-medicate when something is wrong with them, until they are nearly at door's death grin Chei, you needed to see my Hubby's Medicine Chest before we got married, I used to be so scared with his routine when he was ill, he would only take the medication for 3 days regardless of the duration, then claim it doesn't work and go and buy another brand, and he would do this for weeks embarassed

hi lanre, how far gone is your wife? i'ld share my experience wit you. early this yr, i found out that i was pregnant and started spotting at 5weeks. meet my doc who ran tests and said my progesterone level was low. i was then put on supplements. i must confess that i lost my precious ones at 8weeks. most docs in nigeria are not competent, i changed my doc who monitored me from my ovulation date and to God be the glory, i am far gone. please ask yourself these questions: am i comfortable with my doc?, is he a specialist?, how many medium/high risk pregnancies has he handled? etc. best of luck

Some light bleeding is not unsual in the early weeks of pregnancy, but it is very frightening.This is sometimes caused by the embryo implanting in the uterus. You might also see some spotting around the time you expect ur period. If the bleeding is painless thats a good sign BUT IF THE BLEEDING IS ACCOMPANIED BY CRAMPS,THATS NOT GOOD,CALL UR DOCTOR OR MIDWIFE STRAIGHT AWAY smiley
