An under-aged girl from Birnin ruwa village in Sokoto state , has alleged that she was raped, impregnated and abandoned by one Alhaji Giwa who is also from the same village. According to a report, the Alhaji has denied being responsible for her pregnancy in a Sharia court in Sokoto.

The story of this under-aged Maimuna an orphan of Birnin ruwa village in sokoto who was raped, impregnated and abandoned by one Alhaji Giwa of the same village as accused, is very touchy.

Maimuna who is 8 month pregnant, has no body to cater for her pregnancy in this very young age. She is now helpless her father died since, and the person accused of impregnating her denied before the upper sheri'a court in sokoto, but Maimuna insisted that Alhaji Giwa as accused, was the only one who impregnated her.

The two witnesses from the same village have attested before the court that Alhaji Giwa even told them that he will take Maimuna to a specialist for abortion, but later changed his mind.

A child of a very poor family, Maimuna is in dare need of assistance from human right agencies because Alhaji the person in accuse of impregnating her already hared a lawyer for the case.

HOPEI is sad to hear this touching storey of Maimuna, we will assist in taking care of the victim up to the time she will put to bed inshaa Allah. We will also join hands with any NGO wishing to fight for the injustice done to this orphan.

By the way, rape cases in the north is very "Normal", and hardly reported as compared to other divides. Reasons being that, the chances of the victims getting justice is almost not achievable. The victims most times are accused of bringing shame to their religion.

The media is controlled by southerners. If u want, I can refresh ur memory with links to more than 10 reported cases of rape in the last 10 days from ur places. The victims are all under 7. Shall we?

I never believe in the Sharia Courts cos they are notorious in issuing biased judgments where the culprits are set free and the victims punished unjustly. Wont be surprised the Alhaji will be left off the hook while the teenager will be punished cos she pregnanted herself. Watching!!

A pentecostal pastor with the Jesus Miracle Ministries, Awka, Anambra State (names withheld) is on the run after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy.
A source who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the gay pastor was told by a native doctor that his homosexual ‘sickness’ would be cured if he slept with a male teen.
Narrating his ordeal, the victim (Abuchi) said the incident took place after a vigil service.
The teen victim, who hails from Ebonyi State said, “The pastor approached me after the vigil and asked me to stay back.
“I told the pastor that I wanted to go home since the church activities had ended.
“The pastor told me to wait till dawn and when I insisted that I must go, the pastor applied a substance on my eyes which made me to sleep.
“When I woke up, I noticed that my trousers were torn, and my anus was damp.
“I began to cry, as I was feeling pains in my anus. The pastor said I should stop crying; that he would give me money.
“I rejected the money offer and went home and told my people what happened.”
A relative of the victim, Ngozi, who spoke with journalists, said they were not aware that Abuchi went to church that night.
She said when Abuchi came home and told them what happened, they rushed to the church, only to discover that the pastor had absconded.
The Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nkiru Nwode, confirmed the report,
She said the police had begun a manhunt for the pastor, assuring that he would be arrested and prosecuted.
The police spokesperson said the victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The publicity of any evil committed in the north by the bias media will enable the North make the necessary adjustments to produce a better society. Let's not compete about rape, it's not healthy.
Rape must be reported no matter what part of the country it's committed. I'm more concerned about the justice system in both divides as it relates to religion. The constitutional laws on rape and the girl-child isn't supreme (I may be wrong) when it comes to ALL sections of the country. I believe the laws practiced by Northern Muslims tries to limit or alter full investigations and reasonable justice for offenders.
