The National Examinations Council has released results for the NECO 2016 examinations.
Professor Charles Uwakwe, the NECO Registrar, announced this on Friday 16th of September, 2016, and these are the things we know about this year's results.

1. 1,022, 474 sat for the examinations this year.
2. 88.51% (905, 011) of the candidates had at least 5 credits in subjects, including mathematics and English.
This is a 1% improvement from last year's results.
3. 84.54% of the candidates scored credit pass and above in English Language.
4. 80.16% obtained credit pass and above in Mathematics.
5. 194 centres, while 14 schools have been punished for being involved in examination malpractice.
6. The best performing State this year is Ekiti State.
In second place is Edo State, followed by Abia and Kogi tied in 3rd place.
