i hate to admit it but u do have a point. the Catholic church did give us what to read and therefore are actually controlling what we believe.. rumour has it that there are certain scrolls which only the pope or certain priests have access to

there's a library in Vatican which is locked out of public view. only in that library can we know the "true" history of of the early church or myths and facts. but even bishops have no access to the library. only God know who goes in.

VICARUS FILI DEI this means representative not a replacement, and is written in or on nothing the belongs to the pope or indeed the catholic church in any official capacity, and did you know that no quotable literature has ever written about this? And those pamphlets that contain information about this are usually very very speculative.
