A pilgrim from Kaduna state, Malam AbdurRahman Ahmad Salis, has won a Qur'anic recitation competition organised at the Grand Mosque in Makka, Saudi Arabia.
Malam AbdurRahman had earlier won the Maltina National Qur'anic Recitation Competition.
Speaking to journalists in Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of Kaduna State Standing Committee on Qur'anic Recitation, Dr. Bello AbdulKadir, said that the 24 year old AbduRrahman has done the nation proud in the Holy Land.
According to him, AbduRrahman was sponsored for Hajj because he came tops during the last Maltina National Qur'anic Recitation Competition but enrolled for a special programme at the Grand Mosque after the pilgrimage.
Dr. Abdulkadir said that the programme included reciting the Qur'an in the correct phonology and studying the science of the Holy Book.http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/nigerian-wins-qur-anic-recitation-competition-in-saudi-arabia/164271.html#IHTEUuWAlMab6utK.99

How does this increase Nigeria's GDP or solve the problem of corruption on Nigeria?

I am waiting for the day the Arabs will start learning how to speak and recite books in our language. Cultural imperialism and Arab supremacy.

Which day will an Arab come to Nigeria for Ifa recitation..

Religion is a problem..
Most saddening is seeing a full grown man who's brain is meant to be functional for development of his nation spending his entire life cramming the koran.
pls what's the economic benefit?

And what is ur biz with the muslim memorising their Holy Book? If u choose to drop ur Bible in the pit latrine so that u can concentrate on economic improvement, why not go ahead and stop commenting on those who take their religion serious? Despite all those ur concentration, what is ur solution to the economic problems. This is how they start.
