Righteous here mean believers. Allah is telling the believers not to discriminate on the basis of race or ethnicity. Christianity and Judaism does not refer to the race or ethnicity of a people. Why you think the two verses are contradictory is something I don't know.
So often a great number of non-muslims- and some muslims- think they can understand Qur'anic verses without recourse to a teacher. Qur'an is no storybook. You think you can be an autodidact in the field of Qur'anic knowledge by reading some translated text? Goodluck.

Ancestors are not just prophets or successors of prophet. You and I have what we would call True Ancestors. Only Black people have True Ancestors and also Biological Ancestors. Explain this then

Surah 5:51 (Shakir)
O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other;
and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

The correct translation of the verse in Surat Al-Ma’idah is: [O you who believe! Do not take Jews and Christians as your patrons. They are patrons of their own people. He among you who will turn to them for patronage is one of them. Verily Allah guides not a people unjust.] (Al-Ma’dah 5: 51)

It is obvious that Jews patronize the Jews and Christians patronize the Christians, so why not Muslims patronize Muslims and support their own people. This verse is not telling us to be against Jews or Christians, but it is telling us that we should take care of our own people and we must support each other.
