There is something people fail to realize, You can't fight the rich, It takes another rich person to fight a rich person.

Did you think Kashamu was immune politically or he was rich to fight the law and break barriers using money.

In Nigeria, EVERYBODY is afraid of rich men
Re: Are LASTMA Officials Afraid Of Rich Men In Lagos? by zicoraads: 7:37am On Oct 02, 2016
My best picture of Fashola's tenure was that of that Military colonel saluting him after he stopped him and queried him for using the BRT lane.

That said, I am really surprised at some comments here. So because he is moving with an escort vehicle he is licensed to break the law? SMH!

As for the LASTMA officials, put yourself in their shoes, would you want to lose your job? grin cheesy

Half your story wasn't told.... You just like the LASTMA officials turned a blind eye to the escort Hilux in front of it. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. And I hope you are not the one driving because you must have broke a traffic law also and have endangered the lives of other road users by your action. You should have moved a bit faster within regulations park your vehicle very well and take a shot. Did you bother to stop and use just 30seconds demand explanation from the LASTMA officials or call their attention? Thanks anyway for being vigilant but could have done more and better. That is not to say I support the" Big Man's" action o! LASTMA must explain.

Yes they are...

I have seen the two sides of the coin when it comes to Lastma Officials!!!

I was a passenger in a goods delivering van on a certain day, we were at Lekki Expressway and we just worked on the vehicle (Over Heating issues).. We aborted the trip and wanted to return, the street we came out from was just like 100m behind us so the driver decided to use reverse and go back!!

From nowhere, Lastma Officials blocked us and said we're taking 'one-way with style', just imagine!!

We paid 14k before we took our vehicle from their office that day!!! Because it was a van abi

SECOND EXPERIENCE!!!

It was at Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, a Lexus 330 SUV that was still sparkling and in pristine condition then!!

We were coming from Charity and wanted to join the bridge at Oshodi.. But we were in a hurry, so we avoided the airport route and all those bad inner streets!!

We followed one way by the left, our plan was to reach the bus park under bridge and follow that bend the bus drivers normally use to link the bridge, we were almost at the park when a lastma officer stood in front of us!!

We thought the car would be seized, but lo and behold, the officer 'kindly' asked us to please follow the proper route... He told us we were making his job difficult for him and he even helped us clear traffic while we reversed, I swear I was astonished!!!
Now this was because its an SUV right

Only the poor suffer in this country!!

I actually cracked up reading this. grin I swear, this is everywhere. Even here in the US, the police would treat you differently from the average person if you are rich. Most times, the whites are the affluent ones so they get some preferential treatment.

Quick question, do we now have speed limit signs on Nigerian roads? Before I left Nigeria in 2013, very very few roads had speed limit signs.
