Some body said and I quote "new testament christian are not obligated to pay tithe"

The statement above resulted from a Facebook post by Mr. Femi Aribisala titled "Robbers of God" which is critical to pastor Adeboye's view on those who don't pay tithe. See below for the his view

Robbers of God
Pastor Adeboye said to members of his Redeemed Church of God:

“Anyone who is not paying his tithe is a God robber and from now on let it be clear; anyone who is not a regular tither cannot be married in the church. Anyone who is not a regular tither cannot be ordained in the church. We will not ordain robbers, nor will the church accept a non-regular tither to build in the sprawling redemption camp because we do not want to dwell with robbers of God.”

"In the view of pastors like Adeboye, the best Christians are those who give the biggest offerings. Therefore, Adeboye even created a “millionaires club” in Redeemed. To be a member, you have to give him one million naira."

paying tithe is nt by force, the tithe was made in the old testament cos the priest and the temples dont have any business or source of income to cater the needs of the priest who were dedicated to only serve and spend their whole life in the Temple.
.
Today churcheš have enough investments to cater for the needs of the church (charity, food, education etc), there are also no more "priest for life" as seen in the bible who do nt own land, house, source of income etc. Today priest have hotels, school, libraries, printing press, and even airlines, which means they are now income earners.
.
So i will say churches should nt make tithing a compulsory activity for members.

After long and thorough research here's the brief fact about tithing: It is BENEFICIAL but not COMPUSORY.
Most pastors preach that if u don't pay ur tithe u'll go to hell... BIGGEST Lie ever.

BIGGEST Lie ever.
Of course, it's the biggest lie ever!

We are no more under the law!

Under the law, tithe is a demand for God's blessing.

But under grace, our faith in christ is the source of our blessings.

Eph 1:3:"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who hath BLESSED us with ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS in heavenly places in Christ:"

But if I may ask, if what u say is true, why aren't most pastors aware of this? Ie law and grace as stated above?

There is no way you can expect that to happen. There must be good and bad pastors. For sure!

Bad ones wouldn't like to loose the tithe money, they would like to gain it all. No matter how truthful grace teaching is.

Good ones would like to forget about financial drop and focus on the MESSAGE- the gospel of the free grace of God.
