Watching NTA news from two days ago, I was intrigued to see former rice farmers from Ofada village relate on how Ofada rice farming was brought to an end after some foreigners came and were given land to farm, but before the rice could be harvested, swans of birds suddenly started descending on the rice and eating every thing.

The foreigners handed the land back and since then nobody could grow rice in Ofada village because of these birds.

Please can anybody throw more light on this issue?

Who were the foreigners?
What year did they arrive?
Did they make any investment ?
Why were they given the land (presumably for free) to farm and who authorised it?
Any ideas why the birds suddenly became a problem at the time they did?

Are there nobody able to shed any light on whether the death of Ofada Rice farming is connected to Foreigner who were given land just before hoards of birds began appearing at harvest to eat the rice

Anybody from Ofada know about this matter?
