Hi all, I clicked on a friend's link on FB this morning and now at intervals some program takes over, puts whatever is on-screen into the background and asks me to input certain displayed words in its input area, all this while a 3-minute timer counts down to shut down. I've taken a couple of screen shots to show here. Anyone here had a similar experience? Now what the heck do I do, its pretty annoying

Guy The Spyware or Whatever is right inside your pc, get a good and updated Antivirus to remove it or Format and reload, Peace |

Guys, this thing is reaaaally annoying, and I dont want to format my HD just yet, have been trying to update my antivirus but it downloads, installs for nothing, the DAT version remains the same! Any other ideas? |

use an antivirus than can start from a bootable CD. You can use a clean PC to create one. This is one of the times i miss my windows 98Plus |

alternatively, if it's a desktop, remove the HDD and make it a slave and attached in an uninfected computer with latest updated antivirus then scan it. |

Even if its a laptop u can still do the same,but this time u will need someone with an adapter for ur kind of hard disk so that he can use it on another laptop or even desktop that is clean,then u do a scan.I am sure this shld help. Its obviously a virus |

@poster:- it's the latest virus. Facebook and twitter have been affected. It sends u a link from one of ur facebook friends to visit news44.org and once u do, ur computer will be infected. I read an article which says u have to clear ur temp internet files, ur cache and then restart ur system.
