Nigeria, Africa’s most populated country, is unarguably one of Africa’s untapped tourist paradises that leave every visitor breathing hard with suspense and excitement. Thousands of tourist from different countries flock the country yearly to catch a glimpse of the natural beauty endowed on Nigeria.

Yankari National Park

Location: Bauchi State

If you love wildlife and adventure, then Yankari National Park is that perfect destination for you. You will enjoy the Safari where you would be treated to a lovely sight of varieties of animals in their natural habitat.

Yankari National Park is the most developed animal reserve and park in Nigeria. The park has the largest collection of animals than any other park in the country. The park also has several archaeological preserves which include the Dukkey Well System and the Ampara and ShanShan iron smelting works and furnace shafts dating back many centuries.

Yankari National Park offers a variety of accommodation and more than enough opportunity for maximum relaxation and exciting adventures.

Obudu Mountain Resort

Location: Cross River State.

The view here is awesome. You’ve got to take your camera along because there are quite a number of beautiful sceneries here. Seeing these beautiful sights in real life is a must, and will definitely make your holiday more fun filled.

The attraction is popular for its natural wonders, cable cars and other amazing outdoor activities; the resort provides accommodation in form of African round huts and chalets on stilts maximizing the breathtaking views. It also offers self-contained suites of varying sizes. There’s a fully equipped gym, two floodlight tennis courts, a squash court and a natural swimming pool. This is definitely the place to be.


Osun Osogbo Groove

Location: Osun State

Dedicated to Osun, the Yoruba goddess of fertility, the sacred area was established more than four centuries ago and it is the largest of the sacred grooves that have survived to the present. The Osun River meanders through the protected area, with sanctuaries and shrined erected along its course.

This is the only tourist destination in Nigeria that has sacred shrines, sanctuaries, sculptures and art works that are created in the honour of a goddess. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an amazing site to behold.

Idanre Hills

Location: Ondo State

The historic Idanre Hills, said to be about 800 years old can be reached by about 640 steps with 5 resting points on your way to the top, but it’s definitely worth the walk. It provides a window to the town’s colourful history.

The surrounding evergreen landscape provides fellowship with nature’s best. The peacefulness that pervade the atmosphere, the blossoming civilization that existed on the hills, the rigor of climbing and a refreshing swim in Arun River, all make the Idanre Hills a wonderful place to visit.

For an adventurous mind, the tallest of the hills which is about 300 feet above sea level, challenges you to a climbing game. “Dare Devils” who successfully reach the peak are rewarded with a rare panoramic view of the topography at bird’s eye, which is a unique fortitude for ancient residents.

The excitements take you further atop of the hills to Arun River, a small river on the hill. The more adventurous can also dare the Agboogun Footprints, which is widely believed to enlarge or contract to accommodate every foot.

Erin Ijesha Waterfall

Location: Osun State.

Erin Ijesha Waterfall, also known as Olumirin Waterfalls, is a natural sauna. It is a site to behold and appreciate the wonders of nature.

The falls may look uninteresting at first site, but when you begin climbing the seven levels of the ascending plains of the “wonder fall”, you will be amazed at the energizing freshness of the water.

For Fun seekers and tourists, climbing to the third level can best be equated to traipsing the snowy steeply Mount Everest. Obviously, being at these different levels are just witnessing the invigorating freshness of the falls is an unforgettable experience.

But guess what? The place to be is the seventh level. Why? Because at the peak of the fall lies a settlement where many of its inhabitants have lived for several years.
