Why do Nigerians call chocolate drinks (hot cocoa, hot chocolate, malted chocolate, chocolate milk) tea? Why all brands and types of tea are called Lipton’s? |

neighbor came over told me she wanted tea. i made her tea with honey and she starts yelling t me calling me stupid tha shesaid she wanted tea as in milo. i brought her the box of black tea and asked her to read it and tell me how many times the word tea is on the box then handed the can ofmilo and asked her to show me anywhere in any llanguage the word tea is on the can. she drank the damn black tea and never said anything more to me. its been a week. oh well 2 Likes |

nich: agathamari:i'd suppose the keywork there is mashai. mashai - a hausa man that sells bread, fried eggs (the way u want it), noddles and non-alcoholic beverage drinks (milo/bournvita): popularly erroneously called tea. mashais are usually found on school campuses and most suburbs of Lagos. hope dis is useful info! 1 Like |
