The Right Postures To Be While Eating by Richiebill(m): 11:14am On Oct 16, 2016
Our bodies perform many tasks every day and for each of
the tasks, our bodies are required to be in different
postures and constantly adjusted for the convenience of
those tasks. When we eat in the day, we unknowingly and
continuously adjust our posture to accommodate the
eating process.
We move our head up, down, forward, backward, left and
right in order to get food successfully to our mouths. The
spine tends to bend into the position we find most
comfortable for us.
Quite unfortunately, some poor eating postures may result
in some significant problems including gastric problems,
sore backs and necks, jaw problems, headaches and even
some circulatory issues in the legs.
However, illustrated below are some tips for Perfect
Eating Posture:
1. Sitting and positioning the body rightly while eating is
important because it stimulates the safe delivery of the
meal. This aids good digestion. In order to enable the
upper body or trunk to be stable, the feet must have a firm
bedrock so they can bear weight as you eat.
2. Sit near the dining table to avoid straining forth to reach
your food. This totally prevents putting pressure on the
abdomen.
3. When eating in a chair, learn to use a tray and sit up
rightly so your feet are strongly placed on the ground
bearing the weight of your trunk. You can put pillows
behind your back to enhance support if necessary. When
you sit up straight, your meal digests without being
interrupted.
4. Stay seated upright for 8 to 15 minutes after taking your
meal in order to prevent some signs of indigestion or
cramp.
5. Avoid putting tight clothing around your belly
whenever you want to eat to prevent indigestion.
6. Eat in a well illuminated place. Some people are likely
to eat more if the lighting is low. Some people don't like it
when they eat and others watch every move they make
with the spoon. LOL.
7. Avoid talking while chewing. This could lead to
swallowing whole foods which can result to constipation.
All or some of the methods stated above might really not
work out for you, but you should see your doctor if you
are concerned about your digestion, digestive system and
process to enhance better and easy digestion.
Remember,' you are only wealthy when you are healthy'.
